Georgia Wild Caught Shrimp - Group Buy this Weekend!
This weekend we'll be taking orders for Wild Caught Shrimp from Poteet Seafood Company in Brunswick, GA. This is a group buy and it may not be at pick up on Wednesday. They will ship to us on Monday so it may arrive in time for this week's pick up. If not, I will keep you posted and it will be available the following pick up 5/29 in time for Memorial Day celebrations. Medium, Large, and Jumbo size available. Order at https://suwanee.locallygrown.net/market/index/73078
- 5 lbs bag of certified Wild Georgia Shrimp! Taste the difference that only the Spartina marshes and estuaries of the Georgia coast can offer.
- Our IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) Wild Georgia Shrimp are a state favorite. Each shrimp frozen separately using our environmentally friendly freezing process. (Easy to grab what you need for your recipe and defrost)
- When our vessels unload we start heading, sizing, and freezing our shrimp to ensure you are getting the best tasting individual frozen shrimp in the world.
Wild Georgia Shrimp species can only be found in the wild. These species have never been successfully pond-raised; therefore never come in contact with chemicals, antibiotics, pesticides and residues often used in commercial shrimp ponds. Wild Georgia Shrimp grow and reproduce in nature's sounds, estuaries and the adjoining Atlantic Oceans, not in man-made ponds.
Certified for Quality
Wild Georgia Shrimp undergoes strict quality controls at the certified facilities throughout the coast of Georgia. Our shrimp are graded to very high quality standards and certified as fresh "boat grade" or as the premium quality "processor grade." The grade standards assure that anyone purchasing certified Wild Georgia Shrimp takes home only the highest quality products.
Authentic Taste That Only Nature Can Supply
The natural food source for Wild Georgia Shrimp comes from the nutrients supplies by the clean, coastal, Spartina marshes and estuaries that define the southern Atlantic coast. The areas strong tides combines with natural filtration through Georgia's expansive marshland give our shrimp a sweet succulent taste and a good firm texture that can only be produced in the wild.
Close to the Source-Not Imported
Wild Georgia Shrimp are processed only in the State of Georgia and distributed quickly after processing, they don't sit in a warehouse or on a ship for extended periods of time. Wild Georgia Shrimp not only bring you the flavor of the ocean, but are excellent sources of tryptophan, selenium, and protein. They contain low levels of fat and calories and have no carbohydrates or trans fatty acids. Shrimp provide beneficial levels of vitamins B3, B6, B12, vitamins D and Omega- 3 fatty acids. Shrimp are a good source of several minerals including iron, phosphorus zinc and copper. Some people avoid eating shrimp because of its high level of cholesterol; however several studies document no ill effects from shrimp consumption while actually increasing HDL (good cholesterol) levels in the blood.

Back in Time Farm Chicken is back on the market!
Bill just listed his pastured raised, soy free chicken on the market!
Our chickens are very happy because they live in bottomless portable chicken tractors out in the fields with fresh air and sunlight and are moved every day to new grass and bugs. They are never given antibiotics, growth hormones or chlorine from a city water system.
These chickens are tender, juicy and full of flavor for your family to enjoy. The chickens are processed at a USDA, Certified animal welfare and humane treatment facility in South Carolina. The chickens have been tested by a leading research scientist in the food sciences department at the University of Ohio and found to be 100% soy free.
Check out the Back In Time Farm growers photo page for documentation and details. Thank you for trusting us to be your pastured poultry provider. We take it seriously. Bill & Ruth

Build out Update
Update: We've run into a construction snag and our permits to build bathroom is still at Fire Marshall's office. Once the bathroom is built I'll have a better estimate of our Grand Opening date. Right now, it's looking like a June opening. Still chugging along and doing stuff behind the scenes. So excited about what's happening!!
- Calling all artists! We'll be featuring local art in our new market as well. Contact me for more details. We'd love to showcase your artwork.
If you are a new member you may not know about this. Please check out this information about upcoming changes to the market. Please read letter below and/or watch video.

PLEASE HELP! Volunteers Needed at pick up!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! We need 2 volunteers this Wed, 5/22 at 3pm and 5pm.
Please consider volunteering during market pick up. I can’t run the market without your help! Shifts are 1 hour long and go by really fast. It's a great opportunity to meet and help your fellow members!
Thank you Gwen and Melanie for volunteering last Wednesday! We couldn't have the co-op without our amazing volunteers!!
If you are interested in volunteering but unsure exactly what that involves, please let Nora know and she will do a quick "volunteer orientation" with you on a day/time that you pick up.
