Citizenship
- Citizenship belonged to all free, law-abiding people
- Male citizens were able to vote
- Women couldn't be in any government-like office
- Citizens were able to own property
- Could go to court to protect their rights
Laws
- There is a law to protect families inheritance
- Law that protects inheritance when member of the family dies
- Contracts were made between people
Punishment
- You had to fit the crime you commited
- If you killed your father (patricide) you would be drowned in a river
- Slaves were often beaten, crucified or often given harder work
- You would get executed if guilty of treason
Justice
- Natural laws giving every citizen rights
- Connected to life, liberty and pursuit if happiness
- Judges made final decisions from trials and evidence
