Where possible, the format of the newsletter has information for all students is at the beginning of the newsletter and the Year 12 specific information toward the end. However, it is advised that students in year 10 and 11 familiarise themselves with requirements for scholarships, early offer programs and the likes. This ensures that you are aware of the processes and what you can start to do now to give yourself the best possible chance when you are in Year 12.

Skills and Thrills showcase
The Skills and Thrills careers showcase is an engaging, informative and entertaining showcase, created to highlight vocational education and training (VET) and the success stories that emanate from VET pathways. The Careers Showcase will help parents better understand vocational pathways, including apprenticeships, traineeships and school-based apprenticeships and training, and give parents the knowledge they need, to help their children make informed careers choices post high school.
Through the showcase, parents and students will learn about the following;
● Apprenticeships and Traineeships
● TAFE/ Private Training Providers
● Funding options available (Smart and Skilled)
● In school options (SBATs)
● Where to find information
● Who can assist/resources available
● Opportunity to speak with parents and students who have chosen or whereby the child has chosen a VET pathway (Q&A).
The Skills and Thrills showcase will be held on Wednesday, 24th July, 2019 at 7:00pm – 8:30pm at Georges River College, PEAKHURST campus, Rona St., Peakhurst, NSW 2210, in the school hall.

UTS Engineering and IT Work Experience Program
UTS Engineering and IT Work Experience Program

CB11 Faculty of Engineering and IT Building, Building 11
Gain an insight into a career in engineering or information technology!
Get hands-on experience with this 5-day program designed to give you an insight into what it’s like to choose a career in engineering or IT.
You’ll get to take part in a range of workshops (including computer science, cyber security, IT, biomedical engineering, electronics engineering and more) as well as spend time with current UTS students and academics from within the UTS Engineering and IT faculty.

Western Sydney university - free HSC study sessions
Free HSC Study Sessions will be running in the July School Holidays. These sessions are run by experienced HSC teachers and HSC markers to help year 12 students excel in their HSC exams and assessments.
Each session will be structured around the subject syllabus and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

UTS Insearch Info Night and One-On-One Consultations Tuesday 11th June 2019 Find out more about UTS Insearch as a pathway into UTS at Info Night.
