What a time we're in!
I think to say that we are in strange times would be a bit of an understatement. To be honest, we have held off communicating in hopes that we would see a change that allows us a bit of normalcy back into our lives. It does not look like that is going to be the case so bear with us as this may have quite a bit of information.
THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS!
Due to the timing of this pandemic, we did not get a chance to formally thank our volunteers for our events in February and March.
We would like to thank Tiffany McCaulla and Kimberly Lager for all their hard work to make our Winter Dance such a success. The students and parents all had a great time as evidenced by many incriminating pictures from the dance floor. Thank you again for a wonderful time!
We'd also like to take a minute to thank Maria Gonzalez for all her hard work leading up to International Night. While the event did not go on as planned, the work and effort put into the coordination of the event does not go unnoticed. We appreciate your commitment to this event and know what a hit it would have been this year!
Teacher Appreciation Week
Although we are not in the schools right now, we would like to take the time to show appreciation and thanks to our SRES staff.
Staff Dinner: The PTA will be providing a dinner option to SRES through local restaurants next week.
Gift cards: In years past, we have had gift cards donated from families and local stores to raffle off for teachers and staff during the week. Given the current pandemic and the effects it is having on local families, we will not be actively sourcing donations. However, we understand that there are some families that are still hoping to contribute in some way. If you would like to donate a gift card to a local restaurant or store to be raffled off next week, please contact Bethany, Bethany.srespta@gmail.com.
Google slide/flipgrid: As we continue to practice social distancing, we will not be distributing paper "thank yous" for families to utilize during teacher appreciation week. However, below you will find an electronic option should you wish to complete a slide to include in our presentation to teachers/support staff/custodians/counselors/cafeteria/front office AND/OR a video message to them. Should you wish to participate in this THANK YOU MESSAGING, please complete either or both by NOON on Saturday, 5/2. These messages will be delivered next week to teachers.

PTA Board 2020-2021 School Year
Now we've come to the topic that we all love - next year's PTA Board. :) As a reminder, the current board all need to step down from our current positions as we have completed the max term of 2 years.
The PTA requires a President, Treasurer and Secretary to be able to have a local unit. As a result of this pandemic, the current board has agreed to stay in our positions until we are able to have an in person meeting. What this means is that anyone that is interested in taking over one of the positions will get to work alongside us to prepare for the new school year. This is better than any training you would get locally to take on one of the roles.
If you are interested, please reach out.
