Senior Survey: 100% of Seniors Need to Complete the Annual RRISD Senior Survey
Every senior in RRISD is asked to complete the annual RRISD Senior Survey. This survey allows high schools to best support students through the summer months after graduation, and it helps the district better support current high school students. Please take a moment to complete this survey TODAY. It will take less than 10 minutes. RRISD requests 100% participation in this annual senior survey; please complete this survey as soon as possible.
Scholarship Opportunities
Be sure to check out the Scholarship and Financial Aid page of our counseling website for scholarships and MORE! Pay attention to DEADLINES! All seniors should apply for local scholarships since they have a higher probability of getting these awards. Local Scholarships are listed in bold red letters on the Scholarship Spreadsheet. Check this spreadsheet frequently; new scholarships are added all the time!
Report ALL of Your Scholarship Awards TODAY!
McNeil every year publishes all the scholarships you are awarded in our Senior Awards Night program. Please share EVERY scholarship you have been offered thus far, even if you will not be accepting the award. Every scholarship must be verified, so please email copies of any scholarship offers you get during this year to Mrs. Hanson (you can forward the email, send a screenshot, or upload a photo). Submit all scholarships to Mrs. Hanson at annette_hanson@roundrockisd.org to be included in the Seniors Awards Night program.
P.S. We don't publish the dollar amounts in the Academic Awards Night program, so do not be worried about that. However, we do keep a running tally of the dollar amount for the whole senior class which we announce at graduation, so do send me that info! Last year, Maverick seniors were offered over 13 million dollars in scholarships!
Share your Senior Google Slide!
Each year, McNeil curates a slide from each senior to put the senior slideshow together. The slide show is displayed on our website throughout the summer, and it may be played at other senior events. All seniors are asked to create ONE Google Slide and SHARE it with Mrs. Hanson (annette_hanson@roundrockisd.org).
Please include the following on your ONE, SINGLE slide:
First and Last Name
Plans after graduation (military branch, college/university, etc.)
Photo
Any other information you would like to share!
Space is limited to ONE slide per senior! Share your slide with Mrs. Hanson. She will copy it and add it to the master slideshow. Click HERE for design ideas and to see the senior slide show for last year's class of 2022.
Mavericks Enlisting in the Military
If you have already enlisted, or if you plan on enlisting in the military by December 31, 2023, please share your information on this Google Form so we can celebrate you at this year's graduation ceremony! Thank you for your service!
Save the date! Austin Area Our Community Salutes 2023 event is Thursday, April 13th. Click here for the event flyer. All enlisting seniors, along with their family and friends, are invited to attend the 4th Annual Austin Area Our Community Salutes Ceremony. This is a Department of Defense-encouraged event that honors all the young people who upon graduation have elected to join one of our nation’s armed forces. Here is the national link for the event where you can find information or look at pictures of past events. https://www.ourcommunitysalutes.org/
Complete Your FAFSA, TASFA, or TEA FAFSA Opt-Out Form NOW!
If you receive an email from Mrs. Hanson regarding the need to fulfill this graduation requirement, please take care of this ASAP! Currently, a little over 100 McNeil Seniors are in jeopardy of having their diplomas withheld until they submit their FAFSA online, TASFA directly to a college or university, or the TEA FAFSA Opt-Out Form to McNeil High School. Students who do not plan on submitting a FAFSA or TASFA can pick up a TEA FAFSA Opt-Out Form from their counselor or download and print it here.

CLASS OF 2023 SWAG NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE SUPPORTING MCNEIL PROJECT GRADUATION!
CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS AND PLANNERS!!
VOLUNTEERS! We need to get volunteers up and running to help out with Project Graduation 2023. We want to make sure we have a great grad night event for our Class of 2023 to end their senior year in a special way. Planning, fundraising, sponsorships, and other activities need to start happening soon to make it all happen by the end of this school year.
Project Graduation is its own entity and has its own President, Secretary, Treasurer, Bank Account, Fundraising, etc. In years past, grad night has been held at Main Event where the entire space is rented and different vendors like magicians, fortune tellers, etc. are hired to make the atmosphere fun…but the festivities can be anywhere/whatever the Project Grad team decides and makes the most sense. The event is totally free to all graduating seniors of MHS.
There are several positions – in both chair and leadership areas – that need to be filled:
President – Someone to coordinate the meetings and delegate to other groups and just make sure things are progressing.
Vice President – Assisting where needed, helping make sure it’s all getting done.
Treasurer – Someone to manage the books and financial aspects of Project Grad.
Event Coordinator(s) – This person/group would schedule Main Event (or whatever venue is decided), and book entertainment, etc.
Student Prize Coordinator(s) – This person/group would request donations from businesses to give away to students in a raffle-type setting the night of the event.
Sponsorships –This team will solicit fundraising requests from local businesses, seek family sponsorships, etc.
Fundraising Chairs needed:
· Poinsettia orders – There is a vendor in place, but the actual sales and coordination need to be established.
· Yard Sign Orders – There is a Class of 2023 yard sign design available for order or a new design can be developed. Vendors are in place but coordination for purchase, delivery, and customization needs to be put in place
· Spirit Nights at various restaurants, etc. Set up and advertising within the community
· Flamingo Flockings – Fun for a group to flock yards with flamingos for those who sign up and pay. Only available to be flocked in the McNeil attendance zone. All supplies are already on-hand and can begin advertising the service right away as soon as we have someone/group to do the flockings.
· Pet Clinics – We already have a pet clinic scheduled on September 14th, and there will be another in January.
· T-Shirt Sales - If it is determined that a senior shirt/parent shirt is to be sold as a fundraiser, this position needs to be filled.
· Other fundraising ideas as they come!
If you or anyone you know would be interested in helping get this setup, that would be great. We would like to set up an initial meeting, either virtual or in person, in the next week or two if we can get some of these leadership positions in place.
Please email mcneilprojectgraduationboard@gmail.com to let us know your interest area and how we can get something great in place for our Class of 2023 Seniors!

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I donate tickets or request additional tickets?
The original deadline for extra ticket requests has closed. If you were unable to request tickets before this deadline you may still request additional tickets when you pick up your allotted 6 tickets during tick pickup days. These tickets will be first come first serve. If you do not need all of your allotted 6 tickets you can also donate them back to the campus. Donated tickets will be given out to other families needing additional tickets on ticket pick-up days.
What if I do not receive enough tickets for my family?
All five Round Rock ISD graduations will be live video-streamed on the District’s website.
May I enter the ceremony without a ticket?
No. Your ticket will be scanned upon entry. To expedite the entry process, please arrive early and do not bring bulky items. Tickets may not be duplicated, nor can they be scanned more than once. Children under 3 will be admitted without a ticket but will have to be seated on a lap.
Do I have to purchase a cap and gown?
Yes, all graduating Seniors must purchase a cap and gown from Herff Jones. The gowns have changed since last year so wearing previous years' caps/gowns is not permitted.
For any questions or concerns regarding graduation tickets, please complete the Let's Talk form on the McNeil High School Website.
