Fall 2014 Book Fair
at Shwab Elementary
A Guide for Teachers
It’s almost time for our Fall Book Fair! I am really excited this year, and I can’t wait to share these new books with you and your students. Book Fair is a big project, and it takes a team, so I put together a few of the important things you need to know about in order to help make this a success for our school. Just let me know if you have any questions!

at 8:30 a.m.
We will all read the same book at the same time: How Full is Your Bucket? For Kids, by Tom Rath. Teachers and parents are encouraged to enhance the message of this book through discussion and activities. There are great ideas on Pintrest or check out the following link for ideas:

Family Literacy Event: A Knight to Remember
5:00-6:30 Thursday, October 2nd
After a brief Title 1 meeting, families will invited to participate in literacy activities, listen to stories, and shop the Book Fair.
SHOPPING!
Students and families can shop anytime during regular school hours Monday - Friday of the Book Fair week except for Wednesday. Everyone can preview, but after that time, please do not send students to the Book Fair unless they have money to spend.
· Morning shopping: Students need to go to class and check in with their teacher for attendance before they can come to the Book Fair.
· Please call or email to sign up if you want to bring your whole class in for shopping. There is a schedule/sign-up sheet in the Library on the clipboard under the clock (underneath the Student Preview Sign-up Sign-up page). You may send individual students or small groups during any Book Fair hours.
Mrs. Knott has graciously offered to help out for a few hours on Wednesday while I am out of the building. The Book Fair (and the Library) will be closed if she is not in Library since this area must be secured while the Book Fair materials are here.
