Within These Wicked Walls by Lauren Blackwood
A fantasy novel that follows Andromeda, a debtera, who is someone that cleanses a house of curses brought on by the evil eye. When she takes a job after her mentor kicks her out, she soon realizes she may be in more danger than she can handle.
Black Birds in the Sky by Brandy Colbert
This nonfiction text discusses the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, but also puts it into the context of American history in general.
