Hello Bobcat Families!
We cannot believe we are more than half way through summer! We hope you are enjoying some wonderful time outdoors with friends and families and staying safe.
We are busy working on transforming our beautiful new building into a mask-wearing, physically distant, and, as always, socially close community. As you have seen, the plan is to return full-time to the building on September 9th. If you prefer a virtual learning option for your student(s), please be sure to check your email for the form to fill out. If you cannot find it, please email portalsupport@greenwich.k12.ct.us with the name of the child, and the parent email and name, and we will resend the form to your family.
Town Hall for Greenwich Public School Parents
We encourage our District families to join the Town Hall session tomorrow, Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 7:00PM. This session will focus on our planning for school reopening and include answers to frequently asked questions as well as allow for some time for live Q&A. Information to join is available or you may dial-in and use the webinar ID: 646-558-8656; Webinar ID: 848 2900 6227. Please note that our District’s Zoom account has a capacity of 500 participants, but we will be recording the session should anyone be unable to join.
Calendar Update:
The NEW first day of school is Wednesday, September 9th. This change was made to provide teachers with extra professional development, so they can prepare for a safe re-opening to school.
Do you have new neighbors? Friends who moved to Greenwich?
Our office is open starting on August 3rd! Please encourage new families to come register their children!
Virtual Summer Work from your New Leb Teachers
Your teachers spent a lot of time preparing virtual summer work (instead of the regular "packet" or "take home") that students can have a fun time doing, so please check communication from your teacher! We are including some of the "fun work" below - they are choice boards! All the links on the boards are live by tapping on the picture or link.
*The grades below correspond to your student's grade in 2019-2020, but you can use any/all of them!

You can also always access Greenwich Public Schools Seamless Summer Learning for additional summer resources for your students and family.
Are you looking for books that will help engage your children in conversations around diversity, equity, and race? Check out "THE 2020 ULTIMATE LIST OF DIVERSE CHILDREN’S BOOKS!"
We miss you all and are looking forward to a safe return to school this fall!
Love,
Ms. B & Mrs. Monaco
Attention Incoming Kindergarten Families - Save The Date for Tuesday, September 8th at 8:00am-9:00am. We will host a Kindergarten Visitation at New Lebanon!
Face Masks - What Should We Do?
Below are our current recommendations to support our culture of safety:
- Consider the early ordering of a variety of cloth face masks for your children in various styles; Different styles will fit differently on each child’s face and we recommend you try a variety to ensure best fit.
- Masks must be properly worn, covering both nose and mouth.
- Children will need to come to school with clean face masks every day in their backpacks. We will also have masks available at school.
- Smaller children will tend to go through their cloth masks at a higher rate throughout their days and will require a larger volume on hand at home.
- There is a significant lead time on all purchases, so we recommend you buy masks now.
- Parents may want to pack a fresh face mask in children’s snack and lunchboxes to encourage them to change to a fresh, clean mask after a couple of hours of use.
Superintendent Dr. Jones also sent some important Tips & Resources for Preparing Your Child to Return to School and Consejos y recursos para preparar a su hijo para que regrese a la escuela.
