CANKTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Kindergarten students at Cankton Elementary visited with Tiffy the Tooth and dental hygienist from Dr. John A. Hendry and Associates. Students participated in an engaging lesson about daily dental care.
Basin Dance Collective visited Cankton Elementary third and fourth graders today. They performed Color Me ______!, a dance production that features an interactive way for students to explore emotion and empathy. Dancers used inventive choreography to utilize movement and color therapy as a way to teach students about expressing emotion and supporting people they care about.

Opelousas High School's Science Olympiad Team earned fourth place at the Louisiana Region II competition held at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday, March 9 and qualified for the state competition to be held at Southeastern Louisiana University on April 13.

Palmetto Elementary students don’t waste a second of their instructional time. Even during lunch, they bring Chromebooks into the cafeteria to AR test after they are finished eating!

Students (and teachers) at Port Barre Elementary showed their math pride today by wearing shirts to celebrate National Pi Day!
Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world.
Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter which is approximately 3.14.
