Life on Land
A vital goal that needs attention!
Physical Land Impacts
This sustainable development goal is vital for Canada
When any forest area is somehow affected by climate change it increases deforestation, which has lots of negative impacts. This also enhances desertification in areas for nearly 15% of the world’s emissions. ( "SDG 15”)
Type of land degradation of dryland ecosystems. In these dry lands, water scarcity severely limits the production of wood and crops, mainly all agriculture. ("Desertification.")
Ecosystems are at a high risk, habitats and water bodies have also been affected. From the large amounts of wateréair pollution everyday humans use, on top of that more is happening. The pulp and paper factories have a huge impact with the amount of air pollution this causes. This will lead to soil erosion and will then affect the marine animals and would make more trouble for goal #14!
Human Geography Impacts
Rising sea levels are extremely dangerous as this is due to climate change. Deforestation and the massive amount of damage and activity humans have caused in the forests are showing consequences. These rising sea levels affects the low-lying areas and some could even be completely submerged.
