United Way... A memo from Dr. Lowder!
Each year, Cabarrus County Schools holds an employee giving campaign to benefit United Way. Our annual campaign will be held throughout the month.
Donations to United Way support 23 agencies in Cabarrus County – organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club, Meals on Wheels, the Coltrane L.I.F.E. Center, and Habitat for Humanity, to name a few. These agencies, along with 19 others, provide basic needs for community members and create opportunities for people to live better lives. The money raised in Cabarrus County stays here in our community.
I know United Way means different things to different people, but I encourage you to think about the 23 agencies that depend on United Way for funding. These agencies rely on United Way to help them make a difference in the lives of our friends, neighbors, and students.
Since 2012, CCS employees have donated more than $90,000 to United Way with approximately 30 percent of our staff making donations. We are not setting a dollar goal for the campaign; instead, our goal is to have every employee participate in the campaign.
As the holiday season approaches, I hope you will consider including a donation to this year’s campaign in your giving.

Small group counseling sessions will begin next week. Groups will meet on Tuesdays on a rotating basis in the Counselor Conference Room. The following students will be participating and will likely miss your class one time over the next 6 weeks. Each student is responsible for making up the work missed that day. Students will have a green pass indicating that they will be participating in Group that Tuesday. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for supporting the personal and emotional well-being of our students!
