For your planning purposes, the class schedule for 2022-2023 is ready! We have done our best to consolidate 9-12th grade classes so that students enrolled in a standard grade level program have classes over 1-2 days as opposed to 3 days. Please check it out here. For ages 11-13

Design a roller rink!

MEA parent, Jennifer Swedell, is leading this architecture workshop! (Ms. Swedell recently led MEA Architecture for Kids here at MEA.)

Participants will spend a day at Skateworld and Derby United roller rinks, studying the built environment, skating and sketching.

The second day, participants will synthesize their observations, inspiration and sketches into their own conceptual design for a roller rink. They will be using traditional and digital drawing and model-making methods.

Project Pipeline is a national initiative of the National Organization of Minority Architects. Their mission is to empower young people to affect change in their community through design. Using the city as the classroom and connecting young people to real-world architects and planners, they foster the next generation of design professionals, civic leaders, and changemakers.
