Answers to submitted questions
At what stage or where do you waive your FERPA rights?
In the Common Application, you will waive your FERPA rights once you add a college and invite your recommenders. This is in regards to waiving your rights to view letters of recommendation. Most recommenders will not submit a letter unless you waive these rights in order to maintain confidentiality. Below is some more information.
How do we handle transcripts if our child took dual credit classes at NCTC?
If your child has taken dual credit classes, their courses will appear on their high school transcript as well as on a college transcript from NCTC. Most colleges and universities will require students to submit their college transcript from NCTC either in the application process or upon admittance. Contact each individual college/university or visit their website for their policy with regards to dual credit courses.
