Stanwood Middle School
Family Update - June 12th, 2021
Good afternoon everyone!
We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our Stanwood Middle School Yearbooks on Monday! We will send a school messenger with a handout process as soon as they arrive. Thank you for your patience!
Drive-thru Celebration for the Class of 2025
On Monday June 14 between 3:00-5:00 p.m., we will send off our Stanwood Middle School Spartans to become Stanwood High School Spartans--there's a photo op, swag bag, certificate, and cowbells galore. Hope to see you there!
MOD DAY FUNDRAISER
Help support our PTO as they fund so many wonderful things for our school. On Monday, June 14, between 10 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., go in and order (stay or take out), mention Stanwood PTO and a portion of the proceeds will go to projects for our school.
Technology Turn-in
We started collecting technology (chromebooks, chargers, and hotspots) during school on Friday and will do so again on Monday; if your Spartan needs their technology through Tuesday, we will collect all technology (and any library or textbooks) through our drive through between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day through Monday June 21. FYI: Technology will be turned off for the summer, so chromebooks and hotspots will not be able to be used.
End of the Year Due Dates
Our last day of school is Tuesday, June 15; school is from 7:40-9:40 a.m. Cohort A will go to each class in the morning. All teachers have posted final due dates and times in their google classrooms.
Fall Sports
We are looking ahead to Fall sports starting in September. While we don't know exactly what requirements there will be, we would like to get an idea of what sports 7th and 8th graders would like to participate in. If your Spartan is ready to join a sport in the Fall, please let us know by filling out this survey:
As always, please reach out if you need anything at all!
Have a great weekend!

Wrapping Up The Year!
Hello Everyone! _What_A_Year_ In our Wednesday Class Meeting this week, we wrapped up a year of social-emotional learning with Character Strong Lessons. It was a great chance to reflect on what has helped students navigate this unusual year, along with highlights and challenges. It was especially wonderful to hear about what are students hopeful for and a goal they have for the upcoming school year.
Students and Families have shared such compassion and resilience during a tough school year. I send my Congratulations and Best Wishes to our 8th grade students and their families — I will miss you! I look forward to working with our upcoming 7th and 8th graders next year, and welcoming our incoming 6th graders!
If you need something over the summer — including support with housing, food, clothing, mental health resources — please reach out to our wonderful Student Support Advocates. You may call 360-629-1480 to leave a message and a Student Support Advocate will return your call Monday-Friday throughout the summer. It is not an emergency or crisis line. The local crisis line phone number is 425-258-4357.
I hope everyone has a chance to rest and enjoy this summer!
