Message from Superintendent
Happy Summer!
I hope your school year ended well and that you have been enjoying the beginning of your summer. Thank you for your hard work and dedication throughout this past school year. I know many of you are working in summer school and camps throughout the school system this June. Summer is a busy time of working to hire new employees for the 2022-23 SY and preparing for the upcoming year.
I am happy to report that a five percent salary increase has been approved for all school personnel, along with a step increase, for the 2022-2023 school year. We greatly appreciate the Board of Education and the Johnson City Commission for their support. We continue to be fortunate to do the work we do with students and families in our school community.
I would like to remind you of the Tech Academy on July 27 at Science Hill. This is a great day to enjoy learning and collaboration with colleagues from across the district. You will find a link to register in your SSO under the “Professional Development” button. Please register under your school’s link. I hope you have a wonderful and restful summer, we look forward to seeing everyone at the end of July.
Please keep the families of Rev. Vincent Dial and Traci Starr Honeycutt in your thoughts and prayers. Both had profound impacts on numerous students during their time in Johnson City Schools. They both will be greatly missed.
