Uncertain Times
The school board, as per the recommendation of the WDE, voted to extend school closures through the end of the year.
The district is working on a plan that has to be school board and state-approved to provide access/re-entry to buildings as well as providing closure to the school year. We will not know what that entails for a while, so as with everything else, the uncertainty of one item ends and another begins.
In the meantime, we have 5 weeks of school left. I know this hasn't been the most awesome thing, but you guys have done a fantastic job, and I am proud that you are the staff, students, and families of Longhorn Nation! Keep up the phenomenal work, continue to put yourselves and your families first, and hang in there we will be back to our physical school before we know it!
On that note, the week or May 4-8 is Teacher Appreciation Week, so let's do what we can to show them how much we appreciate all of their work during this difficult time.

"Ultimately it comes down to recognizing what’s most important. You are never going to have this much time with your family again. Take advantage of not having all the various sports or activities. Do things you haven’t been able to do together. Play more. Go on a virtual safari. Teach your kids life lessons (how to cook, how to do laundry, how to make a budget, etc.), Make memories by learning, stimulating thought, and inspiring further study. We talk about family first in ACSD#1—building relationships and take this time to discover."
