Honor Choir

Practice, Practice, Practice!

You are in a room with about 200 other people who are also singing for Honor Choir. It's very stuffy and hot in the high school auditorium and you have been singing for six hours straight. You practice the same songs over and over again, finding new mistakes to correct when you are singing. That's what it was like when I went to Honor Choir. We practiced over and over sitting for one second then standing the next to sing. Overall I'm really glad I got to go because it was a fun experience for all of us meaning the 9 other participants who also got to go from the Atlantic 6th grade choir. We left school at lunch and rode a bus over to Treynor, IA. We practiced from about 12:30 p.m. until about 6:00 p.m. Then, we changed into our dress clothes. Finally, we preformed all of our songs, once again to our parents or whoever came to support us. We ended up leaving around 9:30 p.m. Most of us that night lost our voices, but I think everyone that lost their voice knew that it was worth it!
