Parkridge's Bi-Monthly Newsletter

Ms. Verdugo's Principal's Message

The start of the holiday season is here, bringing yet another milestone in what has been an unprecedented year. While Thanksgiving celebrations will undoubtedly look different this year, the holiday should remain an opportunity to pause and reflect on life’s blessings.

At Parkridge Elementary, we are grateful to have families and staff who have embraced and respected our comprehensive health and safety protocols. Although COVID cases continue across the state and country, Corona Norco Unified will continue to work to the best of their ability to provide in-person and hybrid learning options for all their students.

Finally, I would like to acknowledge our Parkridge teachers and staff for their tireless work over the past months. Their dedication and commitment have enabled students to learn in a safe and productive environment. We are also thankful for the support of our families, and incredibly proud of the resilience that our community has shown this year.

No matter what your tradition is, or how different Thanksgiving may be this year, we wish all our "Tiger" families a safe and relaxing holiday week. We'll see you all, READY TO LEARN, on Monday, Nov. 29th!

BIG thank you to everyone who came out and supported us in our fun fun fun Turkey Wobble event. Families had the opportunity to learn about the importance of exercising, being fit, and eating healthy. Our students had fun doing stretching activities with our 100 Mile Club organizers and had the opportunity to earn miles towards achieving their 100 Mile Club goal. Special thanks to organization Giving 365 for donating bags of food to all of our families for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Today we had our first in person Awards Assembly and it was so great to see all the students excited and cheering for one another! We have missed being able to celebrate these special moments and can't wait to continue them throughout the school year! We are so proud of all our Tigers!

Counselor's Corner

With the holiday season approaching, it's a good time to stop and think of all that we are grateful for. Gratitude is noticing and appreciating the things we often take for granted such as having a place to live, food to eat, clean water, friends, family, and even computer access. Gratitude turns what we have into enough! This week's Think about it Thursday question was "What are you grateful for?" Take some time over the next week to ask your child this question and keep those lines of communication open. I am grateful to be a part of the Parkridge community which includes our parents, students, and staff!

This week our students had the chance to learn about all things college and career during our College Kick-off week! Throughout the week the students had the opportunity to visit the AVID Store and spend their AVID Binder Bucks on school supplies and other fun items.
