Connecting Students with OVERDRIVE/SORA

Let's make reading fun again! Connect students with eBooks that inspire them to read. I have added a few popular titles that you'll recognize that students ask for in the library. We need to make sure that students know how to log into OverDrive/SORA, too! Students need their school identification number for the Username and their 8-digit birthdate for the Password. OverDrive/SORA is easy. One click and you're READING!

New Offering eCard with National City Public Library!

Simply complete the eCard application available on the National City Library’s website by going to Library > Circulation > Getting a Library Card or at https://www.nationalcityca.gov/Home/ShowDocument?id=23549, include an email address, and remit to the teacher. Students will be provided a barcode serving as their eCard number. This number is valid for the duration of their attendance at Sweetwater High School. Parents or legal guardians will need to grant their permission by signing the application.

The first week in April, Kwame Alexander Newbery award winning author of the Crossover did a Read Aloud on Instagram Live. He is a former educator and now author. He discussed the elements of the story during his performance which was outstanding. He made the book come alive. READ IT! Happy National Poetry Month!
