Senior Recognition Night Preparations - Making Stoles for our Seniors!
We need help in making stoles for our graduating seniors. If you would like to help, join us next week and every week until we complete our task. We will begin next Wednesday and possibly work twice a week. Join the discussion and planning next Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at NHS in Room 202.

4th Grade - Battle of the Books
This reading competition is for all Native 4th grade students. Students are encouraged to read 15 of the 2019 Sequoyah Oklahoma Library Association books. The list can be accessed by clicking here.
If you are a parent of a 4th grader, please encourage your student to choose these books to read before the competition. If you would like to help with a book club at your child's school, please contact our office.
We need team sponsors, judges and volunteers for our annual Battle.

Oklahoma Indian Student Honor Society

First Annual Norman Native American Frontier Days
Lindsey Street Merchants are hosting the first annual Norman Native American Frontier Days from May 3rd - May 5th. Event times, locations, & dates can be found on the flyers below.

Red Earth Art Competition
Native youth ages 9-18 from throughout Oklahoma and the region are invited to participate in the Red Earth Youth Art Show & Competition scheduled May 17-19, 2019 at the OKC Outlets, 7624 West Reno Avenue in Oklahoma City.
Artwork and registration is due on May 17th, Friday between 1–6pm.
Prize money is awarded to the top three winners in each division category, along with a "Best of Show" award.

2019 Youth Track Children’s Behavioral Health Conference

Find Your Future Summer Education Camp
The Find Your Future Summer Education Camp (July 21-26, 2019) is a five-day residential program hosted by the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education at the University of Oklahoma. This program is designed to recruit and prepare high school students of color who are interested in becoming educators in order to address the critical shortage of educators from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds in the state of Oklahoma and across the country.
Students who participate will be encouraged to reflect upon their own educational experiences and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships with others in their schools and in society. This program is offered at no cost to participants.
Stickball Teams
The Chickasaw Nation provides:
- Team specific jerseys
- A limited number of sticks to be borrowed for practice and games
- A limited number of transportation to games
- Practice sites available for Ada and Norman area players
