February 2024
Hello February! ❤️
As we approach February let's remember to prioritize self-care and make time to recharge our mind, body, and spirit. Perhaps, this can be the start of a new book! February is also Black history month, our schools will be incorporating the importance of this month in the classrooms. A quick reminder although the temperature outside is going up, winter is not over. Let's remember all students should continue to wear coats, hats, and gloves as they do go outside for recess.

FREE ENGLISH CLASSES
Oak Crest Elementary School
On December 20, 2023, Oak Crest had the honor of having Christel Rivera, Miss Racine Wisconsin, talk to the 5th grade classes about Fuel in Mind. Fuel In Mind is working to promote a healthier lifestyle by strengthening our connection with: food, physical activity, and taking care of our mental self. She also spoke to them about the importance of education, extracurricular activities, and being bilingual. All of these assisted her with winning the pageant.
Christel is one of Mr. Escobedo’s former students. She is currently enrolled at the University of Wisconsin Parkside to become a Political Science Major, and ultimately becoming an attorney. The students really appreciated her visit.
