WEEKEND UPDATE
THURSDAY Oct. 3rd
VOLLEYBALL
Thursday afternoon, our JV and Var Volleyball teams traveled down to South Austin to compete against San Juan Diego CHS. The JV played hard and are growing stronger as a team. Watch out for them next season! Varsity struggled a little in the early games but came together and fought for the win! Coach Jageler is so proud of her players. WAY TO GO CELTICS!
FRIDAY Oct. 4th
FOOTBALL
On Friday night, our Football and Cheer teams traveled out to Marble Falls to compete against Faith Academy High School. Our Celtic offense came alive Friday night and spread the ball around to many Celtic players. Celtics scored 8 touchdowns and five extra point kick conversions but it wasn't enough to overcome the Faith Academy Flames. After falling behind 24-0 in the opening quarter, the Celtics scored their first TD early in the second quarter on a 79 yard pass completion from Jace to Guido. That touchdown sparked the Celtics to trade touchdown after touchdown with the Flame for most of the game until, with only 18 seconds remaining, Faith Academy scored the game ending touchdown. Guido Zecca would go on to score another four touchdowns and stack up over 200 yards combined. One of his rushing TDs was set up by a 48 yard reverse handoff on a Faith Academy kickoff by Zaylin all the way to the one yard line. Other highlights included David's eleven rushing carries, two passing touchdown scores by Neri and a TD pass reception by Trent following a quarterback scramble to find him open in the flats. The Celtics stacked up 413 total yards on offense, two interceptions and over a hundred yards on kickoff returns. Final score was 104 - 58.
Even though our Celtics fell, they played to the end and never quit. As always, their sense of sportsmanship was irreproachable. Coach Koch could not be more proud of his players. CELTIC PRIDE NEVER DIES!
Please come see these guys play this Friday at our 2019 Homecoming game vs. Bracken Christian. Kick-off at 7pm.
And a shout out to our Cheer team
Coach Hazard is so proud of the Cheer team and penned this kind note to her students after Friday's game: "I am so very proud of every single one of you. You went above and beyond cheering tonight. Staff from the other school and parents complimented how spirited you guys are! That says a lot! You've all come such a long ways. Way to stay enthusiastic the ENTIRE game!"
SATURDAY October 5th
CROSS COUNTRY
Early Saturday morning, our Cross Country team headed out to the Founders Classic Invitational in Leander where they again showed their competitive strength. Our girls Cross Country team finished 2nd overall lead by Abby Rockwood, Katie Jolly, Reagan Ramsey, Sydney Jolly, Carisa Toralva, Madison Dent and Sadie Castillo. Our varsity boys were lead by Nathan Orf (4th overall) and Bruce Reed (9th overall). With the huge number of runners competing at each meet, our amazing Cross Country team run like champions and consistently place in the top 10! Coach Warnes is so very proud of these runners and their hard work. They all run like champions!!
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
CAPTURE MY HEART Women's Retreat
This past weekend 17 young ladies from Holy Trinity participated in the Capture My Heart Women's retreat. This was a weekend focused on helping these young ladies to better understand their own dignity and identity as beloved daughters of God the Father and how much Jesus thirsts to be in a relationship with them. The girls also had lots of opportunities to grow in community with each other this weekend, and to strengthen the bonds of sisterhood between them. The retreat was organized by our Director of Campus Ministry, Ms. Alyssa Snyder with the help of our Theology teacher Mrs. Suzi Rockwood and several of Ms. Snyder's fellow alum and friends: Colette Glorioso (HT Class of 2017), Hannah Albers (HT Valedictorian, Class of 2012), Francesca Weisbruch (HT Christian Leader, Class of 2016), Madigan Maere, and Lo Schubilske.
And again, Thank you...
....Thank you to all those who support our students!
