GCN Reminder

Don't forget to complete your GNC trainings. Remember in addition to the Blood Bourne Pathogens, Bullying, General Harassment, Sexual Harassment, you also need to complete the GNC on Seizure Disorders and Anaphylaxis and Anaphylactic Shock. Also I will need your printed certificate on completion. Teachers who supervise aides please make sure they understand the GNC requirements. All staff are reminded that the tests need to be completed individually.

Please be sure you are staying on schedule when picking up your students from specials and recess. If there is a glitch in the schedules please let me know so we can address.

Constitution Day

Constitution Day is September 17. Here is a website for information to help develop lesson plans for your students. http://www.contitutionday.com

I am trying something a little different this year. My plan is to use google calendars to share PD calendars and Jane Ball Events. I have completed the PD calendar up until December. ALL calendars will be revised as dates change and we will update them through the google calendars. My hope is that this will be easier for all and help with communication and planning. Feedback is ALWAYs welcomed. I did schedule a tech training with teams in Sept.

Star 360

You should have gotten the PRETEST information and schedules from me on Friday.

As Janet emailed I am having SPED and 504's delay until we see our first day of testing and see how it goes. Remember this is a learning curve for EVERYONE. Please be patient as we work through the bumps. I am very excited about the information we will get on our students and help us identify academic needs. Please make sure you have note cards for each of your students with their passwords and usernames. Please remember the passwords are case sensitive. I did ask Steve about a generic password, however because the passwords back up to powerschool it would have wiped out the generic password.

Please make sure you have taken the time to go over instructions and you can log on. If you are still having difficulty email me and Steve Plesha asap.

PBIS kick off

Climate is working on the PBIS kick off for 2015-2016. The kick off assembly will be Sept 25th at 9:00. Grades 3-5 will then have an anti bullying speaker following at 9:30 in the gym.

The first PTO meeting of the year this Wednesday at 3:30. Please try to make the first meeting as Stracks is presenting the school with a donation. PTO has been a great help supporting our kids, so please consider joining the PTO.

Board Meeting

At this months board meeting our custodial staff, and Bea Cak will be receiving a commendation. As most of you know Bea spent this summer shopping and putting together pictures in frames of our staff. Bea also was helped by Kara Barno and Val Narin painting and doing the lettering you see around the building. The custodians, in addition to helping Bea with the hallways did a great job preparing the school for the new school year and making sure we had what we needed in each of our learning spaces. The board meeting will be this Tuesday at 6pm. Next month we will be recognizing our staff that helped with the library:)
