Happy Friday, Everitt families!
We had a wonderful week at Everitt. Our advanced art students started work on two beautiful murals in our hallways. Please see the photos below. Our 7th graders had a great time and learned so much on their field trip to the Museum of Nature and Science. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers and to our 7th grade teams for making that possible. On Thursday, Shakespeare in the Parking Lot was back and we had our talent show which was run by our Tri-M students. Everitt is just bursting with talent! Today, many of our staff members spent the day driving around town and dropping off Everitt yard signs and welcome packets to our incoming 6th graders. It was such a treat to meet our new families and students!
Next week, students will be doing MAP testing in their ELA classes. We use the information gained from MAP testing to understand next steps for each student and to determine class placement for next year. The MAP test is an adaptive test that responds to each students' answers and accurately places them in terms of their present levels in both math and reading. As students answer questions correctly, the test gives them more challenging questions. We will send MAP data home with students in mid-May so that you can see how your child scored.
Next week we also have one of our most beloved family events of the year. On Thursday, we would love to have you and your family join us for International Night. You will have the opportunity to watch cultural performances, sample foods, and explore the cultures represented in our community. The students in our Spanish classes will also teach us about a Spanish-speaking country of their choice. Our PTA, Ms. Neve, Mr. Solis, and our Cafe con la Directora families have worked countless hours to create this wonderful event.
I hope you've enjoyed this beautiful day.
Thank you for supporting and believing in your neighborhood school. It is our privilege to partner with you!
