Call for Proposals 2020: Linking the UN Global Goals

This current call for proposals seeks applications for projects that will accelerate progress towards the 2030 Agenda in Scotland and the wider world by considering the linkages between the goals. The importance of the interactions between goals was emphasised in The Future is Now’ - the UN’s Global Sustainable Report for 2019 published at the end of last year:

“Advancing the 2030 Agenda must involve an urgent and intentional transformation of socio-environmental-economic systems …Achieving that transformation… means carefully taking into account the interactions between Goals”

Expressions of interest are invited by 24 April and the deadline for applications is 22 May. Further details can be found on our website:

This is the second of 3 calls for proposals looking at the theme of the SDGs. Four programmes were selected from the first round in December 2019.

SUII Roadshows

We are pleased to welcome back University of Aberdeen who rejoin us from the second half of this academic year. We look forward to working with them again and helping to provide opportunities for academics to link to the wider policy and practice community. We will be holding an information session in the Sir Duncan Rice Library to publicise our current call for proposals on 19th March. Full details of all the information sessions we are running in March can be found on our website.

Programme Review 2012-2019

Our recent evaluation looks back at the knowledge exchange programmes we have supported over the last seven years to give a broad picture of the topics that have been addressed, the impacts on policy, practice and academia, and the range of outputs produced. Key areas of focus were Children & Young People, Economy & Business and Health but also included Justice, Community and the Environment. Programmes were informed by a range of non-academic partners such as Local Government, Third Sector, Business and the wider public, and international expertise was brought in from around 30 other countries.
