SHELTER
Tropical Island
HERE ARE SOME THINGS TO REMEMBER WHILE MAKING YOUR SHELTER
Make sure you have materials around where you are going to build your shelter.
When building the shelter have it on level ground and make it so you have enough room to lay down in.
Have the shelter provide you protection from elements and wild animals
Protect yourself from insects, reptiles, and poisonous snakes
You must make sure to build your shelter properly and safely. A very common mistake when building a shelter is making it to big. Make sure that the shelter is large enough to fit you inside, but also it must be small enough to contain your body heat, especially in cold weather situations.
Types Of Shelters
- Poncho lean-to
- poncho tent
- three pole parachute tepee
- singular pole tepee
- one man shelter
- parachute hammock
- Swamp bed
- debris hut
- Tree pit snow shelter
- natural shelters
When in a survival situation you always want to keep the shelter insulated whether it is cold or warm.
Use brush and debris to cover the outer and inner layers of your shelter for insulation.
Get a fire going near your shelter(not to close, but close enough) so you wont freeze in a cold weather situation, and if warm have a fire for cooking and cleansing water and meats.
