Franklin Family Update
Volume 1 - Issue 7 - September 18, 2020
From the Desk of Principal Anderson
Hello Franklin Families,
What a fall! First, a pandemic and now hazardous air quality! I hope this newsletter finds everyone safe and well.
Yearly, I am tasked to report that Franklin Middle School is a Title 1 school and participates in the Title I Program. Title I, Part A is part of the Every Student Succeeds Act. Its goal is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach proficiency on challenging state academic standards.
As a Title I school, we qualify for federal grant money which we use for additional staffing, parent involvement, staff development, and extended day opportunities to help us meet that goal. This update is intended to provide you with important information about this law and your child’s education.
You have the right to request regular information or meetings about Title I at Franklin Middle School. Please contact me at Anderson.sherry@ysd7.org if you would like more information. For additional information, explanatory brochures are attached to this newsletter.
Lastly, watch for announcements pertaining to our upcoming Open House…details coming soon! And, we continue to give food to our families on Wednesday, offer computer assistance daily, and collect or handout text and library books. Last year’s gym clothes are available for pickup until the end of the month. If you have questions about any of the above, please call 573-2100 for answers.
Take care and stay safe!
Mrs. Anderson
Congratulations and Welcome to Our New ASB Treasurer and Secretary!!
