OXFORD VALLEY

FAMILY NEWSLETTER - SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER

It's OCTOBER! You are invited to read all about our events for this month and last.

Hello OV families!

During the month of October, we at Oxford Valley are practicing the "W" of "W.I.S.E." by WORKING TOGETHER to participate in the "CHILDREN HELPING CHILDREN in NEED FOOD DRIVE". In partnership with the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rotary Club, many Pennsbury Elementary Schools are working together for an urgent food drive for families in need at the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter in Levittown. Food is always in scarce supply, especially during the upcoming holidays. This is Bucks County’s only emergency shelter, and at the present time, there is a food shortage! One grocery bag of food can provide as many as 11 meals. Every single donation helps, and together we hope our combined donations will make a real difference for those in need. Nutritious canned and dry goods are very welcomed and gratefully accepted.

Our opening W.I.S.E. assembly on September 6th was a lot of fun! As you can see from the pics below, our school-wide goal is to make OV the FRIENDLIEST school in Pennsbury. In the spirit of Penn State, our cheer is, "WE ARE - WISE OWLS...HOOT-HOOT!"

Please continue to scroll down this page for more exciting information about things happening at OV. There is also our 2019 Halloween Guidelines and our Parade Route Map with the viewing area outlined for parents/guardians/guests. October is a FUN month!!!

Fondly,

Donna L. Minnigh

SCHOOL ARRIVALS & DISMISSAL INFORMATION:

  • DOORS OPEN AT 8:40 am - PLEASE DO NOT DROP CHILDREN OFF PRIOR TO 8:40 am as there is no student supervision before 8:40 am.
  • DISMISSAL IS AT 3:40 pm - Students in KG and 1st grade will begin their dismissal at 3:35 pm and will meet their parents in front of the school. Students in grades 2 through 5 are dismissed out of the side doors and will walk to the front of the building to be crossed by a crossing guard.
  • ALL parents/guardians waiting for students in front of the school MUST REMAIN BEHIND THE BUSHES AND AWAY FROM THE BUS LOOP. We need you to stay back so that students do not run across the bus loop in an effort to reach you. The teachers and adults supervising dismissal will send your student across to you.
  • NO DOGS or PETS AT ARRIVALS OR DISMISSALS
  • Please DO NOT CROSS TRENTON ROAD @ Fairfax. ALL STUDENTS AND ADULTS MUST CROSS AT THE CROSSING GUARD - There have been TOO MANY close calls at the intersection of FAIRFAX and TRENTON ROAD. Saving 50 steps to get to the crossing guard IS NOT WORTH THE LIFE OF YOU OR YOUR CHILD. CROSS ONLY at the CROSSING GUARD.
