Instructional Professional Development Strategies Follow-Up & Jeans Passes Leveling Up Opportunity
As a follow-up from our PD last Tuesday, I wanted to provide the incentive breakdown for earning additional jeans passes.
The link below will take you to the instructional strategies document we used and collated numerous highly effective instructional strategies that can be used within classes. We have extracted the "top 10", if you will, that will earn you 2X jean passes for each one used within classrooms - they are the main ones highlighted on the document. The others, found in the link at the bottom of the document, will net you 1 jean pass for each strategy used. In theory, you could have jeans passes for nearly the remainder of the year if one went so far as to integrate each from now until then.

All you have to do is send administration or Laura Warr and invite to see them in person, snap a picture and email them to us with a very brief description, or point it to your teacher social media page and tag us.
Thank you, and I know we have already had 3 people submit strategies used and have gained extra jeans passes to be used and their discretion.
100% COMPLETED!!!! North Carolina Teacher Working Conditions Survey - Jeans Passes for the Rest of March!
As always, we greatly appreciate your feedback as we strive for continual professional growth.
20-21 SY Teacher Grade Level/Subject Preference Survey - This will fall off this week
Please access the following link to submit your grade level/subject area preferences for the 20-21 school year on this survey. Please indicate your name, certified areas, grade level, and content preference. Please do not put the same answer for all four places.
Please know that this is not a guarantee to a specific grade level or content, but things are always evolving and these preferences are helpful to consider when making any possible future changes. There is no anticipation of major changes - that's not how we do things, but like we have demonstrated thus far, we value the feedback.
Thank you and if you have any questions, please let me know.
Student of the Month
Please consider your recommendation for the month of March. Every certified staff should submit a name for student of the month. Please enter your nominee to the original spreadsheet linked below. Make sure you input the name on the correct month tab at the bottom of the sheet.

District Audit Results
We did well overall, but we had about a handful of doors that were left unlocked. A simple rule to live by: if you have a door, it must be locked at all times - it can be opened while you are in there, but it should be locked at all times and closed if you leave the room at any time. We may possibly be on a schedule to reassess if we continue to have doors left unlocked.
Important Reminders:
1. Outside doors/gates should never be propped open - if you see one open, it is your responsibility to do something and to not leave it for someone else to mind.
2. All interior doors must be locked at all times - classroom doors may be open if occupied, but should still remain locked. If you leave your class, it must be closed behind you.
3. ID badges must be worn at all times.

Need CEU's? A message from HR
If staff members are looking for ideas for getting credits for their licensure, we have a place on the HR website that they can go to for ideas.
On the HR licensure page, underneath the table of credits is a link “if I am short on credits where can I go?”
When they click on this link we have a working document with ideas of free resources.
The direct link to this page is: https://www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/Page/75192 if you want to share it with anyone.
Also, be sure to check periodically your licensure status and the amount that you need for renewal.
