RISD Elementary Parent Newsletter
Week of 2/25/19
Message from Julie
Dear RISD Elementary Parents,
Good morning, so sorry that this is going out so much later than usual.
I wanted to talk to you all with some difficult news. I have chosen not to seek a contract for next year from RISD. I have enjoyed working with our teachers, the community, and particularly the amazing kids at both buildings. There are wonderful things going on in both buildings, and I am proud of our progress. I look forward to working hard for kids, families, and staff for the rest of the year!
March 21st at 600 is our First Annual Art and Music Gala for both schools at SME. Mark your calendars! All students will have artwork up and many students are performing in small groups. Mrs. Duvall and Mrs. Libby have done a fabulous job preparing our talented students for this event, and we are so excited!!! Please be sure to try to attend - there will also be tasty desserts!
Current 3/4 parents at SME, we are meeting tonight (Monday) at 6:00PM to discuss the remainder of the school year.
We are rescheduling our Spring Concert for 5/27/19 in the Academy Gym at 6:30PM. With all of the snow days, our early date feels a little stressful, and with all the snow, it would make parking pretty difficult at the Academy. Thank you for understanding!
Girls on the Run is beginning on both elementary campuses! It is for girls who are in 3-5 grade.
Register here: http://www.gotrvt.org/Register-Now Scholarships are availble for all girls who wish to participate. Mrs. O'Hearn, Ms. Moran, and Mrs. Martel are running it at SME and see Ms. Lloyd or Missy Smith to participate at WES. What a great opportunity!
I hope you have a great week! As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns; my door(s) are always open!
Warmly,
Julie

Our students cannot access youtube while they are at school, so this shouldn't be an issue there. As always, we continue our diligence to safe internet access.
