National GEAR UP Week Materials
I know many of your coaches have started contacting Keisha about ordering for National GEAR UP Week. Again, I want all orders to go through you and to Vickie, who will place four orders with Keisha (1 per region). I don't want a lot of differentiation on these orders. You all should be pretty much ordering the same things: folders, pens, pencils and t-shirts. If you have special items that you want to order, please run them by me and if I like them, I'll add them to everyone's order. This would be a good time for you all to collaborate on what you're asking for. I want this figured out and to Keisha by Friday at the latest. In other words, Vickie will be placing her order with Keisha on Friday. What we have is what we will go with. This will hopefully give her enough time to work it out.
Schools will also get the parent calendars in time for National GU week as well.

College Application Month (CAM) events begin in 2 weeks
We will be coming around to CAM events in the GEAR UP Schools to assist. Depending on how many schools happen on the same day, you could have as many as 4 of us there or as few as 2. If you are lucky enough to get Catherine with you on that day, please make sure she meets the GC to introduce herself and the social media efforts. I'll do the usual once over of the program at the school just to be supportive. Please make sure our GU schools don't cancel or change their dates. If they do, we can't guarantee college admissions officers will be there to support their event. I expect GU staff to be as helpful to the school on those days as possible. CAM events scheduled for September are the following:
Battery Creek HS 9/25 8:30am
Whale Branch HS 9/25 9:15am
Loris High School 9/30 10:00am
Creek Bridge HS 9/26 8:30am
Lamar HS 9/16 8:00am
St. Johns HS 9/18 8:30am
Finance Update
Q4 ends this month. Please make every effort possible to catch up the schools on their invoices from previous quarters. At some point those conversations are going to get uncomfortable if we don't get caught up. I hate owing people money.
Please be available today for phone calls between 2:30 and 4:00, in case I need to share my KW experience with you.
Social Media Update
Please make sure we start pushing the GU Facebook and SC CAN GO Facebook/Twitter.
