LABOR DAY, SEPT 4
Humble ISD will be closed on Monday, September 4, in observance of Labor Day. Classes resume for all students on Tuesday, September 5.
There are opportunities for current or retired police officers to serve with the Humble ISD Police force on a temporary or seasonal basis. If you are interested in learning more, please complete the Humble ISD Police Interest form and a member of the Humble ISD Police Department will reach out to you.

AHS FUTURE PATRIETTE CLINIC, SEPT 2
Children in grades K-8 are invited to an AHS Future Patriette Clinic from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 2. Participants can choose to sit with a Patriette and will perform at halftime at the Varsity game on Saturday, Sept. 9 at Turner Stadium. Register your Future Patriette
UNCF HOUSTON WALK FOR EDUCATION, SEPT 9
Join UNCF on Saturday, September 9, for the UNCF Houston Walk for Education - walk, run, health & wellness, refreshments, entertainment, and more! During this event, students and their families can speak with the UNCF Outreach & Program Services national team to obtain free resources, college readiness toolkits, and learn more about UNCF scholarship opportunities.
Students visiting this information booth will also be eligible for a chance to win a free laptop!* (certain criteria apply)

HUMBLE ISD SUICIDE AWARENESS & PREVENTION WALK, SEPT 13
Join us for a community event to rally around Suicide Awareness and Prevention at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, at Turner Stadium. Students, staff and community members will walk side-by-side to bring awareness to suicide, honor lost loved ones, and create a supportive and stigma-free culture. This is a free event. You can show your support throughout the month of September by wearing gold! Families can purchase GFW shirts at Ace Hardware at both Kingwood and Atascocita locations and Pretty Little Things in Kingwood. Campuses or organizations can make bulk orders (25 or more) here.

SCHS THEATRE PRESENTS PRINCESS & PIRATE TEA PARTY, SEPT 16
The SCHS Theater invites you to a Princess & Pirate Tea Party from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, at Summer Creek High School. This dress up party hosted by the Playhouse officers is geared towards K-5th grade. Come enjoy face painting, crafts, snacks, and photos with real life Princesses and Pirates! The cost is $25 per child.

KPHS SILVER STAR DANCE CLINIC, SEPT 16
Children in grades K-8 are invited to a KPHS Silver Star Dance Clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, at Kingwood Park High School. Register by September 6 to receive your shirt the day of the clinic on the 16. Walk-ups will be welcomed on the day of the clinic. GREATER HOUSTON JOURNALISM WORKSHOP, SEPT 16
All middle school and high school journalism advisers and students are invited to a full day of workshops and fun from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, at Kingwood Park High School. Professional journalists, including a Pulitzer Prize winner, will work with students to improve their writing and publications. Veteran advisers will be on hand to also talk yearbook, design, photography and more! This event is free of charge. Those who register by Sept. 6 will receive a free lunch! LONE STAR COLLEGE LEADERSHIP HIGH SCHOOL, SIGN UP BY SEPT 22
Lone Star College Leadership High School (LHS) is currently accepting applications for the 2023-24 year. LHS is a leadership development, community awareness, and civic engagement program for sophomore and junior high school students who attend public school and live in the LSC service area. The program is free and the deadline to apply is September 22, 2023.

HUMBLE ISD SPARK PROGRAM
SPARK is an interactive program for families of preschool age children within Humble ISD. It is open to any child from 3 to 5 years of age. Activities are offered three days per week at the new Early Childhood Center at 8105 North Belt Drive. All activities are planned and facilitated by certified Humble ISD pre-school teachers and are free of charge. SPARK classes are available September through May of each school year.

The YMCA After School Program makes the most of your child's after school time by offering active learning opportunities designed to engage and expand young minds. After school care is offered Monday through Friday from school dismissal through 6:30 p.m. at all Humble ISD elementary schools.
