Hello, Kipling Cougar Families!

What a great week!

Halloween was so much fun. I hope you were able to watch the parade...if not, please check it out by clicking here.

Don't forget that on Monday, we will be sending out the links to sign up for parent teacher conferences. That will go out at 5:00 pm on Monday.

Finally, I have a request. If you pick up by car, please wait to receive your child until you are stopped with your passenger door on the curb. Please do not send older siblings out of your car to run across the parking lot to get your children. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

New Lunch Locations Beginning on Monday

Kipling families,

A reminder that on Monday we will begin our new lunch schedule that will carry us through the winter months. Safety is our top priority in carrying out our lunch & recess plan, and that has necessitated that some grade levels be split up during this period. Out of fairness, all 2nd-5th graders will take a turn during this year being the “split” grade. We appreciate your flexibility and cooperation as we navigate through the restrictions and guidance we must follow to keep your child safe.

Kipling PTO BOOK FAIR: 11/8-11/10

Book Fair

The Kipling Book Fair is back! This year, our Book Fair will look different from a safety perspective, but it will still offer an abundance of amazing books for our kids. We are offering 3 ways for you to purchase books:


Sign-up for a time slot to shop in-person on one of the following days. Time spots are for 20 minutes and spaces are limited. Be on the lookout for sign-up information.

  • Monday, November 8th: 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM

  • Tuesday, November 9th: 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM

  • Wednesday, November 10th: 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM


On Tuesday, November 9th, the students will be previewing the books and creating Wish Lists. Your child will bring home a copy of their Wish List with an attached envelope (There will also be a Seesaw picture of your child’s Wish List should they not bring the paper copy home.).

  • Choose the items you would like to purchase;

  • Follow the directions for payment; and

  • Send your child with the envelope containing your order and choice of payment (Credit Card, Check Or Zelle) back to school on Wednesday, November 10th.

Our volunteers will fulfill the order for your child. Books will be sent home on Wednesday or Friday of that week.

Note: We must receive your order with payment no later than Wednesday, November 10th at 2:00 PM.

Teacher Wish Lists

You will have an opportunity to buy books for your child’s classroom listed on their teacher’s wish list either by shopping in-person or through our wish list fulfillment option.

All For Books

One of our Book Fair goals is to ensure as many children as possible have access to and receive books. By participating in the All For Books program, we are able to meet this goal by providing books for kids in our community through our Angel Fund and for kids at Restored Hope as a part of Kipling’s Holiday Gift Drive.

Kipling also earns profit from the money collected through Scholastic, which in turn helps to place books and other educational resources into our school. In addition, Scholastic matches our monetary donations and distributes books to kids in need through various organizations.

Your child will be bringing home a baggie on November 1st, which will be attached to the Book Fair Flyer. Please use this baggie to send in loose change or dollars by November 10th.

Monday kicks off our 2nd annual 109 Gives Back Food & Supply Drive benefiting the West Deerfield Township Food Pantry! All six schools are working together to collect 5,000 items to help ensure everyone has a great Thanksgiving and holiday season. Donations can be placed in a bin inside the front entrance of our school from November 1-5 and from November 8-10. If you have any questions, visit
