Sageland MicroSociety Elementary

Parent Update Week of September 14, 2020

What to expect this week

Sageland Parents,

Four weeks of school have come and gone, and I continue to be more and more impressed with our students each day. I know this is not easy, I know it's not where we want to be, but to see our Scotties build stamina and become more and more engaged and independent each day with virtual learning has let me know that our teachers' hard work is paying off. Please continue to be positive, flexible, and adaptive to the challenges and changes that are happening daily.

This week students in 4th-6th grade will take the TEA beginning of year assessment in Math and Reading on September 15 and September 17. We are asking for your support by ensuring that your child has a quiet place to work and that you allow them to work independently. As educators, we need to measure our students' independent levels to support them better. Be sure to read the attached letter about testing logistics.

Your child's progress report is ready to view on your online Home Acces Center (HAC) account. Be sure to talk to your child about their grades. Work with your child's teacher if you have any questions. Remember, every teacher is available from 2:45-3:30 Monday-Friday. Watch this video if you need help getting into the HAC.

Thank you for all that you do. Continue to stay safe and healthy.

Mrs. Blair

School Principal

Each child is allowed ONE breakfast and ONE lunch per day. Visits to multiple campuses are not allowed, and a la carte sales will not be available.

Parents, be sure to keep your MASK on when receiving the meals.

SIF Form- Every Student at Sageland must have this form completed.

The Socioeconomic Information Form (SIF) is used by our Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) schools, or schools where every student automatically receives free lunch. In the 2019-2020 school year, 49 Ysleta ISD campuses were CEP schools. The SIF gathers the same household information as the application that parents fill out every year to qualify their child for free or reduced-price lunch, but the SIF uses this information for different reasons.

Click on the button below to SIF complete the form. Directions are located at the bottom of the page.

Weekly Update from the Superintendent

Friday Schedule for Students

Every Friday our school day will look different than our Monday through Thursday schedule. Students must check-in with their teacher at 9:30 AM. This will count for their daily attendance. Students who do not check-in will be counted absent. The teacher will set the goals for the day and the rest of the day will be self-paced. Students are to work on assignments given during the check-in time. Teachers will be available during their office hours from 2:45-3:30 if you or your child have any questions.
