Parent Update Week of September 14, 2020
What to expect this week
Four weeks of school have come and gone, and I continue to be more and more impressed with our students each day. I know this is not easy, I know it's not where we want to be, but to see our Scotties build stamina and become more and more engaged and independent each day with virtual learning has let me know that our teachers' hard work is paying off. Please continue to be positive, flexible, and adaptive to the challenges and changes that are happening daily.
This week students in 4th-6th grade will take the TEA beginning of year assessment in Math and Reading on September 15 and September 17. We are asking for your support by ensuring that your child has a quiet place to work and that you allow them to work independently. As educators, we need to measure our students' independent levels to support them better. Be sure to read the attached letter about testing logistics.
Your child's progress report is ready to view on your online Home Acces Center (HAC) account. Be sure to talk to your child about their grades. Work with your child's teacher if you have any questions. Remember, every teacher is available from 2:45-3:30 Monday-Friday. Watch this video if you need help getting into the HAC. https://youtu.be/DfjEpTbI1o4
Thank you for all that you do. Continue to stay safe and healthy.
