September 8, 2021 Principal Message
Jeffreys Grove Magnet Elementary
Dear Jeffreys Grove Families,
As we enter the month of September and start settling into our daily routines, I'd like to share my gratitude for the many ways our staff, parents and students continue to show their support and dedication to Jeffreys Grove.
Our front office staff has been so great accommodating questions from parents and providing support to the entire school during the opening weeks. Thank you for bringing your best to work every single day. Your attention to detail, customer service, and upbeat dispositions make a huge difference in our school.
A shout-out goes to the teachers and instructional assistants who have been focusing on connecting with students in order to establish trusting relationships to support academic, social and emotional learning. Throughout these first weeks of school, our staff has been dedicated to modeling, teaching and reteaching safety protocols to ensure our learning environments continue to be safe and collaborative. Thank you to all staff for your efforts to capitalize on outdoor spaces.
The hard work of our PTA can be seen all over campus. Our teachers' lounge has never looked better thanks to the loving touches of our PTA. Their campus beautification efforts have made our outdoor areas look fantastic. Our PTA has also been coordinating parent donations for the creation of additional outdoor spaces, planning upcoming fundraising efforts, and serving our school behind the scenes.
To our cafeteria workers and custodial staff who work tirelessly to keep our school clean and lunch lines moving - a big thank you! Thank you for bringing a smile to everyone with your positive attitude and helping hands. We couldn't do it without you!
I would also like to recognize our Student Services Team, our Nurse, Assistant Principal, Coordinators, Interventionist, and Media Specialist for doing your best everyday. Thank you for always boosting our spirits and working so hard to support students and teachers. Your impact is felt across the building and having you makes all the difference. Thanks for all you do.
I am so proud to be part of such a supportive and caring school community.

Hello JG Community,
What a busy but exciting start of the school year! We know there are many transitions that everyone is adjusting to and we want to remind you that we are here to help. Check out our "Counselors Corner" newsletter link below to find out some of the activities we've done in the classrooms during Eagle ACES. Also, Positivity Project (P2), our schoolwide character strengths program, begins next week. More info about P2 can be found in our newsletter.
SOAR on Eagles!

Jeffreys Grove Families,
As you have seen in Ms. Ventura's updates, the Open House on Thursday, September 16 will now be virtual. (K-2 at 5:30 pm and grades 3-5 at 6:30 pm). Our first general PTA meeting will also be virtual and held on Thursday, September 23 at 6 pm. Please note, only current PTA members will receive call in information because we will be voting on the 2021-2022 budget. Click here if you haven't joined the PTA! Our special guest will be Ms. Ventura. She will be sharing a principal's update as well as answering pre-submitted questions. If you have any question(s), please submit them here.
Ms. Ventura and Assistant Principal, Ms. Scott, have located some additional outdoor seating areas. If you are willing to lend/donate a table and/or benches for outdoor seating, please visit this updated sign up.
Our GoPlaySave fundraiser is ON! Coupon books went home with Pre-K - 1st grade students. 2nd grade - 5th students received an info sheet and collection envelope. Please purchase a coupon book - whether hard copy or mobile or BOTH ("a bundle") - and start saving today! In just the past week, I saved $31. I saved $6 at Jersey Mike's, $10 at Cafe Carolina (BOGO lunch with a friend), $10 at Dick's Sporting Goods and received $5 off a gallon of Sherwin Williams Paint at Town Country Hardware. I use this book ALL year long and it MORE than pays for itself! Your support of this fundraiser will fund cultural events for students (the well-loved Batik week for 5th graders and various grade-level residencies throughout the year). Questions? Please reach out to our GoPlaySave Chair, Jennifer Holding.
