Mrs. Shaw's Weekly News
January 4th - 8th
This Week
This week we welcomed Harper, Rhett, and Leo to our class. We are excited to have new friends!
After a relaxing break, we jumped right back into the swing of things. In Language Arts we read Little Panda, a story about a panda born at the San Diego Zoo. We discussed how the panda grew and changed and compared it to how we have grown since we were a baby.
Our phonics focused on long and short o sounds. We also added with, me, and see to our growing list of sight words.
In Math, we learned to tell time to the hour. We created snowman clocks and played a scoot game around the room to practice. Students really enjoyed this topic. We will also introduce telling time to the half hour.
In Stemscopes, we picked up where we left off. After learning about habitats, we are now learning how animals impact their environment. Students are learning about good and bad changes to the environment.
Welcome to our Class!
