Mother's Day: A Celebration For Our Mothers!
For their love, patience and care for us, our mother's should be celebrated every day, not just today! In the month of May, we not only honor our own mothers, but the mother of Jesus. Our Blessed Virgin Mary is a model of love for us all. It is an incredible gift that the Easter season includes the Marian month of May. As we continue to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus, it is only fitting to celebrate his mother and our mother too.
Unfortunately, this year, Mother's Day will be very different with social distancing. But you can still show mom, grandma, and all the "mothers" in your life you care! Happy Mother's Day to all our mothers!

Mass Readings for Sunday, May 10
In this weekend's Gospel, Jesus tells his disciples, "I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life." During the last supper, Jesus predicted that he would soon be going away. This prompted many questions from his disciples. Jesus responds with these words:
"I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.
If you know me, then you will also know my Father.
From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
Through these words, Jesus is establishing that knowing Him is not only the ultimate meaning and fulfillment of life on earth, but the only way to really know our Father in heaven.
As a family, read this weekend's Mass Readings together. Use the link below to discuss these Readings. The first video acts out the Gospel for children to understand. The second video is a dance/song activity for children to act out these words!

Honoring our Mother, Blessed Mary!
As our model for all mothers, the Blessed Virgin Mary is honored and remembered on Mother's Day and throughout the month of May. To show our love and appreciation, traditionally, our parish holds a "May Crowning," presenting Mary with a crown of flowers and handcrafted materials to signify her queenship as the mother of Christ, the King.
We can continue this tradition of May Crowning, even as we are at home. To honor our Blessed Virgin Mary with your family, here are ways to continue this traditional "May Crowning."
- Create an space to honor Mary in your home.
- Display a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, or have children create/print pictures.
- Present a crown of flowers, either real or created through materials to "crown" our Mother.
Each morning or evening throughout the month of May, as a family, pray together the Hail Mary prayer, and present your intercessions to her.
