Welcome back, I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas break. A new year is upon us and we are excited to be reading the following stories during library checkout. During 3rd grade story time we will be reading The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore by William Joyce. We will be reading A Pet for Fly Guy by Tedd Arnold during 2nd grade story time. We will be reading Winter Days in the Big Woods by Laura Ingells Wilder during 1st grade story time. We will be reading A Library Book for Bear by Bonny Becker during kindergarten story time (we will also be introducing the E shelves to the kindergartners and showing them how to use a shelf marker).

On Friday we will see:
3rd Grade Edwards and Bent - We are continuing our genre study. We will review realistic fiction and will dip our toes into historical fiction.
2nd Grade Swihart and Mick - We will be learning about call numbers and how the library is organized.
1st grade Hays and Carr - We will be determining what the purpose of reading fiction vs. non-fiction would be and when would use a fiction or non-fiction book.
Kindergarten Schmitz and Richter - We will be watching a Charlie and Lola episode entitled But That is My Book. We will talk about selecting books in the library and what happens if our favorite book gets checked out by someone else.

The 4th graders will begin their work on the Dewey Decimal system. We will be working on a scavenger hunt through the Dewey Decimal section of the library.
