THE NEW YEAR NEEDS YOU!
A NOTE FROM THE BOOSTER PRESIDENT
PARENT CALLOUT!
Fellow band parents - it's hard to believe that it's time to hold elections for the 2023-24 year. According to our bylaws, we are to begin the elections process in January by appointing a nominating committee of booster parents. This committee will work in conjunction with the band directors to develop a slate of candidates for the elected positions. The slate of candidates will then be presented to all booster parents at least 7 days prior to the election, which will be held at the March 15th parent meeting. The board-elect will then shadow the current board through the remainder of the school year, and officially take office on June 1st.
Our elected board positions are:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Engagement Coordinator
- Events Coordinator
- Fundraising Coordinator
We want YOU to seriously consider becoming more involved with our booster activities! All elected positions are open to all active booster parents who are interested. If you have questions about any position, please reach out to the current board member - we are happy to help answer those questions.
Please email president@fcbands.org with your interest in either (1) the nominating committee or (2) one of the elected positions. We are excited to continue our growth into the future.
(NOTE: the positions of Concert Band Liaison, Jazz Bands Liaison, Guard Liaison, and Percussion Liaison are appointed by the directors, not elected by the booster parents. We encourage those who are interested in those positions to reach out to the current liaisons and/or directors for more information!)

WGI Championships
WGI "World Class" Championships will be taking place at the University of Dayton on the evening of Saturday, April 15. This is the highest level of competition for winter guard competitions (the equivalent of the Olympics for our activity!). What you will see throughout the day is nothing short of the best winter guard talent in the world performing unforgettable shows!
We will have a bus leave Franklin Central High School in the morning or early afternoon on Saturday, April 15 and drive to the University of Dayton Arena for WGI World Class Finals. The bus will return to Franklin Central around 2:00am on Sunday, April 16.
The fee for this trip is $125 per person. This fee covers the ticket cost ($92.50) and the transportation costs (about $30 per person) to get to and from the event. The ticket cost will be added to your child's student band account. We will order a block of tickets so we may sit together.
Once your ticket order is placed, the cost is NON-REFUNDABLE. Please fill out this form only if you are absolutely sure you are attending. This order form is for "REGIONAL A" and GUARD MEMBERS, and PARENTS/CHAPERONES from any guard wanting to attend. If you wish to purchase multiple tickets, you must fill out the form for each individual attending (example - if a child and their parent is attending, you must submit the form twice...once for the child and once for the parent).

FC BAND EVENTS
Event Hosting - Volunteer Sign-Ups are OPEN!
Did you know our hosted events bring in thousands of dollars to the band program? Without these events, and your volunteer hours, our band fees would go up and our program would not be as amazing as it is today! If you have not selected your volunteer slots, please do so asap!
There is a tab for each event in the sign-up, and if you are wondering what a position entails there is a link to the page of job descriptions! If you have any questions, please email Amanda Groce at events@fcbands.org.
