Moore's December Newsletter
Daily Life at Moore...
☃️🧣 Winter is Coming! 🧤❄️
As we enter the winter season, please remember to send in daily with your child their winter gear (hat, gloves, coat, snow pants, boots) for outdoor recess. We will go outside daily unless the wind-chill is below 10 degrees. We want our students to be able to stay warm while outside enjoying exercise in the fresh air. Thank you in advance for your help!
❄️Inclimate Weather⛄
Should snowy weather pose a problem for transportation, school will most likely be "closed" for the day. If time permits, our automated phone system will place calls to designated phones of our Moore Elementary families to inform you of the closing, But, families should always stay tuned to your local radio stations or television stations for closing information and other updates just in case the automated phone system does not operate as efficiently or as perfectly as we would like. The best bet is to double-check using the TV, radio or website at mtmorrisschools.org.

If your child is sick, please remember to...
“Sneezin Season” is officially among us and we wanted to provide you with useful information to help support our Panther families.
Students who have had fevers, vomiting, or diarrhea should be symptom free for at least 24 hours WITHOUT the use of medications before returning to school.
If your student needs medication at school, medication must be sent in the original, unopened, container from the pharmacy. All medications, including over the counter medications, throat lozenges, and topical medications require a medication form signed by a parent AND also a health care provider.
Students who are unable to participate in outdoor recess should have a note from the health care provider that states their student should be kept indoors for temperatures below/above with a specified temperature in degrees. A date to which they may resume recess is also needed.
Students with Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease, strep throat, influenza, or COVID should consult with their health care provider for an appropriate return to school date. These illnesses are contagious, and the time frame may vary for how long a person is infectious. Your health care provider will be the best resource to help you determine a safe return date for your student.
A gentle reminder that frequent and thorough handwashing is the most effective method to prevent illness. Please encourage your student to wash their hands regularly. Also, regularly washing coats, backpacks and hats/gloves may help to keep your Panther healthy.
If your student is absent, we kindly request that you notify the office with date of the absence, reason and expected return date. Please allow 24-48 hours for homework requests if needed.
