Make A Wish

Where wishes come true.

How did it get started?

The Make-A-Wish foundation was founded in 1980 by Scott Stahl, Linda Bergendahl-Pauling and Frank Shankwitz.

Make A Wish Mission

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. The Foundation believes that the fulfillment of a wish creates a magical moment for children, families, and everyone involved in a wish. Therefore, it is the Foundation's vision that people everywhere will share the power of a wish.

What Is The Impact?

Now, in 2013, more than 226,000 children in the United States have benefited from the hope, strength and joy of experiencing their one heartfelt wish. And while it’s not the beginning, it’s nowhere near the end.
