Principal's Message: Week of August 15th

Hello Parents and Families:

Thank you for a wonderful first week of school! It truly was great to see so many students arriving to school on time each day even with our new start times. This week only we did give a few minutes grace to allow everyone to adjust to the new time changes. From now on, the breezeway doors will close promptly at 7:50 AM. Any late students will need to get a late slip and check in at the office.

Parents, do not leave your car unattended. It holds up the traffic. We will help students cross safely. Only use the crosswalk, we had some students trying to load into cars that are in the DRIVE THRU lane. Please review the map below to review where to pick up students.

T-shirt Sales

PTO will sell t-shirts this coming week. $15 per shirt.

  • Monday at 11:10 AM for TK/Kinder/PREP students
  • Wednesday at 2:30 PM for Grades 1-6
  • Back to School Night on August 23rd and at the Movie Night on September 30th will be additional times to buy a shirt

Aeries Parent Portal

Please make sure that you update your phone numbers, email addresses on the Aeries Parent Portal. This MUST be done every year and is called Data Confirmation. If you want to receive all the latest announcements or newsletters I send out, this needs to be done. We have about 65 families who have NOT completed this step. Thank you to ALL those who have!!

PTO Membership Drive

Our PTO membership drive will be from August 15-September 23rd. Please see the flyer below. We hope to have 100% participation of each class so they can earn a pizza party. This fundraiser helps with many activities for our students.

ELAC Parent Meeting

On Tuesday, August 16th there will be an ELAC Parent Meeting for parents of English Language Learner students at 8 AM. The meeting will be in person and online as well for those who need it.

School Theme

Our school theme is Level Up! We will hold our first whole school assembly. It's supposed to be on Monday but since I will be out in the morning, we are going to hold on Tuesday. We hope to use this time to sing patriotic songs, review important announcements with students, and to build our community. Please use the Level Up theme at home with your child/children too. We will discuss character traits and ways to push ourselves to be our very BEST.

Respectfully,

Ms. Han
