2015 - 2016 Longhorn Yearbooks

Order your Mendenhall Yearbook today! Yearbooks are $25 and checks can be made payable to: Mendenhall PTA. Yearbook order forms went home with your child yesterday. Return the yearbook order form with the full payment to your child's homeroom teacher (check, money order, or cash). Order forms must be received by May 27, 2016 to allow for processing. Don't let this opportunity to purchase a yearbook pass you by!

Mendenhall Senior Reunion

Our Mendenhall Class of 2016 Senior Reunion will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 4:30pm in the Mendenhall Library. If you know of any 2009 fifth grade Longhorns please invite them to attend this reception in their honor.

Parent Ed: Let's Talk!

Mendenhall Field Day

Mendenhall students will participate in Buddy Field Day on Friday, May 20th. There will be 30 fun-filled stations run by the Williams High School PALs. We are excited to have these exemplary young men and women work with our students.


Students should be prepared for fun in the sun by wearing shorts, tennis shoes, and plenty of sun screen!


The grade levels are scheduled as follows:


Grade K and 1: 8:30 - 9:45

Grades 2 and 4: 10:00 - 11:15

Grades 3 and 5: 12:30-1:45

As the school year comes to a close, Food and Nutritional Services would like to thank you for your child's participation in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs. Please ensure your child's account is paid in full before the last day of school. Credit card payments can be made by using PayPAMS. If your child transfers within Plano ISD, the balance in your child's account will automatically be transferred to the new school. Additional information regarding payments and instructions for requesting a refund if you child is leaving PISD were sent home in your child's Wednesday Folder.

Holiday Reminders

Mark your calendars! Friday, May 27 and Monday, May 30 are student school holidays. We hope you have a safe and relaxing Memorial Day. We look forward to seeing your students again on Tuesday, May 31 for the final week of school. Our last day of school is Friday, June 3. Students will be dismissed at NOON on this day. Please make arrangements to have your child picked up at 12:00pm.

5th Grade Graduation

Our 5th grade graduation will be held at 9:00am on Thursday, June 2nd in the Mendenhall gym. We hope that our 5th grade parents and families will be able to join us for this special event and celebration of the hard work and dedication your child has put into their years here at Mendenhall. You won't want to miss this special day!

It’s a Blast!

Memorial/Bowman

Registration is currently underway for the Plano Enrichment Program (PEP I).

PEP I is housed at Memorial Elementary School and Bowman Middle School.


The PEP I program offers a variety of enrichment as well as review courses for Kindergarteners to Fifth Graders in a safe, caring, and fun environment.


We offer something for everyone!

STEM, Art, Acting, Sports– we have it all.

The program dates are June 8- June 30, Monday-Friday.


Tuition is $150 for one two- hour course; $300 for our half-day program consisting of two courses.


PEP I Program hours are 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

We’ll do the driving for you. Free PISD school bus transportation is offered to and from your home school campus to our PEP I summer school site.

Students may be enrolled through the Parent Portal or by completing the attached registration forms.

Plano HS Theatre Camp for Elementary Students

The Plano Senior HS Wildcat Theatre department is offering the third annual summer theatre workshop for elementary students June 6-9, 2016. Students having just completed Grades 2nd through 5th are encouraged to attend. Theatre subjects such as acting, mime, mask making, make-up, improvisation, musical theatre and production will be taught by high school theatre students under the direction of professional theatre personnel Lance Morse and Cassidy McQuiston. Classes will be taught in the Doyle Dean Performing Arts Center on the PSHS campus. This year’s hours have been extended to 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., to better serve parents’ schedules. Plano East Tennis Camp

Plano East is offering two week-long summer tennis camps starting the first week of summer, June 6--10 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am at the East courts. The 2nd camp is August 1--5. It is open to anyone 6-17 years old, and is good for beginners or experienced. We will offer daily prizes and a tee shirt. Plano Providing Free Wi-Fi

The City of Plano has announced that it will provide free public Wi-Fi at city parks and recreation centers, both indoor and outdoor for everyone at no cost to taxpayers. This is a great way for our students and families to access the internet for educational programs and applications. In outdoor locations the free service is called Oh, Ranger! Wi-Fi. At indoor locations, you can gain access to the free service by selecting the TIme Warner Cable hot spot in the Wi-Fi settings on your mobile device.

The Plano ISD Parent Portal is your key to staying connected and up-to-date on your child's progress. On Parent Portal, you can:


  • View your child's grades and attendance
  • Update your Emergency Form - phone numbers and emergency contacts
  • Get a copy of your child's immunizations
