OCS Newsletter

January 2021

Dear Families,

We are just finishing up our two week remote learning period. We appreciate all your support during this time. We understand how hard you all are working to be sure your children are successful. Now we are looking forward to returning to the hybrid model on Tuesday, January 19th. Please remember that Cohort A student attend in the building on Mondays and Tuesdays and Cohort B students attend on Thursdays and Fridays. Both Cohorts will continue to attend for a remote day on Wednesdays. The other days for each Cohort are independent learning days. Students have activities posted on SeeSaw or Google Classroom to complete and should be completed prior to attending their in building days. Please remember that your children should be charging their Chromebook at night and bringing in a charged Chromebook for in person school days.

Please remember that all students need to have appropriate winter weather gear such as a jacket, hat, gloves/mittens, snow boots, and snow pants for grades K-3. Children love playing outside in the snow so please be sure you help them be prepared for each in building day.

We look forward to seeing everyone next week!

Sincerely,

Andrea Fournier

Principal

Health News

Immunizations

The following immunization is required by New Hampshire state law for students entering the 7th grade in the fall:

Tdap

If your child is 11 years of age or older, and it has been 5 years or longer since their last tetanus vaccine, they will require a one-time dose of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine. Except if they have a medical contraindication to the pertussis vaccine, in which case they need a Td vaccine. Then a booster every 10 years with Td.

If your child has received this updated vaccine, please provide an updated record.

This letter is to inform you that students missing this documentation can be excluded from school. If you have any questions, please contact me at 539-4589.

Snow Days

The school board recently voted to have the next snow day be a non-school day. So if a snow day is called it will be a non-school day. If we have other snow days after they will be remote learning days.

Food Services

OCS has extended free meals (breakfast and lunch) to all students until the end of the school year. Our food service department is still encouraging parents to submit their free and reduced applications for the 2020-2021 school year. Follow the link below.
