No School Friday, December 23rd - Monday, January 2nd. School resumes on Tuesday, January 3rd.
CARING & SHARING
Thank you everyone that was able to help support local families this holiday season. There are so many ways to support others in our community and elsewhere throughout the year. Caring and Sharing is just one way. Our local food drive, Spread the Love, will be back at the beginning of February. The generosity and support of our LCS community is noticed and greatly appreciated!
LOST & FOUND - LAST CALL!!
To try and eliminate this ongoing problem, we suggest putting your child's name in everything so staff will be able to return items to those students.
Grandparents enjoyed a preview of the 7th and 8th grade holiday band concert and students are greeted each morning with band members and teachers performing in the atrium.

HOMEWORK HELP
LCS staff will be available after school most Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for a study hall and academic support at no charge. Your child may work on specific academic activities determined by the teacher, have time for extra homework help, or read.
Here are the details of the program.
After School Study and Support will be available most Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. See below for set dates prior to winter break.
It will run after school from 3:15-4:15 p.m.
Your child will meet in the LCS library and sign in
Your child can bring a snack and eat it outside of the library PRIOR to entering the library to work on homework.
Your child must be picked up by 4:15 p.m.
Homework Help is held in the library from 3:15- 4:15 on most Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Students can come on one, two or three days in the week.
There is no commitment required. All students need to do is come to the library and sign in on the day they want to attend.
Parents do not need to pre-register their child. They just need to make sure their child is picked up at 4:15 on the day they attend.
It is an open study hall with teacher support available to help students with work they are struggling with or clarifying directions etc. It is recommended that
students begin with the homework that will be the most difficult for them to complete independently, so the teachers can provide assistance when they need it.
If students finish work prior to 4:15, they can read quietly in the library until pick up.
Homework Help dates can be found on the school calendar. Here are upcoming dates:
January: 4,5,9,11,12,18, 19, 23,25,26, and 30
February: 1,2,6,8,9,13, 15,22,23, and 27
March: 1,2 6,8,9,13,15,16, 20 and 22
If you have any additional questions, please contact Heather Thurin at thurinh@mylakecountryschool.org or 367-3606 extension 132.

There will be tours offered at South campus before and after the orientation. Look for a letter from AHS after winter break with more details.
FIRST TECH CHALLENGE STATE QUALIFIER ROBOTICS EVENT: "THE KNACK ATTACK"

Come see 24 robots compete to advance to the state competition. Lake Country School's team "Outside the Bots" will be competing.
This event is free and open to the public. Come see what robotics is all about.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
Winter weather in Wisconsin has the potential for inclement weather that may impact and warrant the need to delay or close Lake Country School.
School closings are considered when there is a wind chill warning with wind chills maintaining a level of 35 degrees below zero or greater for an extended period of time, especially if the wind chill warning includes the times that students are traveling to and from school, or if road conditions due to snowfall or ice are unsafe for travel.
Collective decisions are made with our bus provider, other area Superintendents, law enforcement agencies and national weather service advisories. We look to make these decisions as timely as possible. When Arrowhead High School is closed, all of the K-8 feeder schools are closed as well.
If the decision is made to close schools, families will be notified via a phone call by 6:00 A.M. Please make sure your contact information is up to date by logging into to Skyward Family access and choosing Skylert in the left-hand column. The information will also be posted to our website and shared with local media.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Please know that every effort is made to use up-to-date information to make decisions. We appreciate your continued support.
DRESS FOR THE WEATHER
Looks like the cold weather is finally here! Just a reminder to dress kids for the weather. Hats, mittens, boots, snow pants if necessary. Because of the wet weather it is also a good idea to have an extra pair of socks or even pants in the younger kids backpacks. We have kids come to the office looking for dry clothes after coming in from the playground but we only have so much to offer in the Health Room.
REMINDER: Hat season is Lice season! Stress the importance of not sharing hats as this is a sure way to spread lice if it is present. We do have some extra hats in the health room if a student forgets one.
2023-24 ENROLLMENT FOR IN-DISTRICT 4 & 5 YEAR-OLDS
We are searching for ALL three and four year old future students in the Lake Country District. If you have, or are aware of a three or four year old in the district who will be 4 or 5 years old by September 1st, 2023, please have the parents contact Lisa Acton at actonl@mylakecountryschool.org or call (262) 367-3606 ext. 115. If you have children attending Lake Country School already, please don't assume we know about all younger siblings. We want to make sure we contact every eligible child before our Open House in February/March!
