On Friday, January 9, 2015, close to forty students met together as follow up to the December Town Hall meeting to discuss the App, Afterschool. The meeting became so much more then just the app; matter of fact, the students collaborated to take a stand against bullying. The students decided to call this group PGHS Unite since it's the focus to bring people together at PGHS. Below are some of the action items that the students have been working on since the December meeting; they reported out on what was accomplished to date:

  • Cyber Bullying Play - Allison Wentzel found a play that portrays the dangers of Cyber Bullying and is putting together a drama team to act out this play for each grade level on Friday, February 27, 2015.
  • Light, Bright, and Polite - Ms. Feola arranged for this powerful program to come to PGMS & PGHS on Monday, January 26th.
  • Social Media Parent Website - Mr. Wagman created a page with social media resources for parents
  • Student Support Groups - Mrs. Hayden, Mrs. Scott, and our School Counselors held a support group for students after school on Wednesday. This will take place again this week.
  • Color Day Theme - The theme for the Color Day speeches is Respect.

PGHS Unite will meet again on Friday, January 30, 2015 during periods 1, 2, and 3 in the District Office Board room.

DI Supervision Plan

The Mid-Year Supervision plan should be completed in My Learning Plan. Please make sure that your plan is entered by Friday, January 23, 2015.

Students Learn How to Stop Bullying

Seventy-five PGHS students participated in Ophelia training as part of a program through Ursinus College. PGHS students learned from Ursinus students on how to stop bullying and harassment. They also learned what to do if they or a friend is in an aggressive or abusive relationship. Students were invited from SNAP Academy and the PGHS Unite groups.
