Drop Off/Pick Up
TK /Kindergarten: Drop-off is at 8:10 AM at the Kindergarten Gate
Grades 1-5: Gate will open at 7:55 AM. The gates at the front of the school will be open for entry and exit. There will not be access through the gate on Marlowe.
During the first three days of school, parents are invited to be on campus to walk with their children. We ask that all parents say goodbye to their children OUTSIDE of the classroom, and exit the school campus once students have entered the classroom.
Starting on Monday, August 23, we encourage parents to say goodbye to your child at the gate to reduce the amount of people on campus. This was a successful practice last year and we will not have the playgrounds open or equipment out before school. Students can use the hand sanitizer stations and then will line up outside their classroom until school starts.
Supervision is not provided after school, please plan to arrive promptly by 2:40 PM Monday –Thursday and 1:30 PM on Friday.
Self Screening at Home
- Temperature above 99.5
- Cough
- Nausea, upset stomach
- Cold Symptoms
- Sore Throat
- Contact with positive COVID case and experiencing symptoms
Mask Guidance
Students are required to wear masks when they enter the classroom. Masks are optional outdoors but students may choose to have their masks on throughout the day. Teachers will instruct all students to properly wear their masks while in the classroom.
Free Meals
All CVUSD students will have access to FREE hot lunch served during the day and a grab'n'go breakfast offered at the end of the day. This program will be available through the entire 2021-2022 school year.
Check out CVUSD Child Nutrition website for more information
CVUSD Forward
You all received the CVUSD Family Resource Guide which outlines the 2021-22 health and safety protocols. Please visit the CVUSD Forward website for more detailed information that you can access all year. We will be implementing layers of safety to support the well being of our Aspen Family:
- Mask wearing required indoors and optional outdoors for everyone on campus
- Physical distancing, though not required, will be implemented to the best extent possible
- Students line up outside their classroom before school (no recess or playing before school)
- Outdoor lunch with classes assigned to tables and students spaced apart
- Regular hand washing/sanitizing throughout the day (before and after recess/lunch)
- Improved HVAC systems and air filtration
- Classroom doors to remain open as often as practical
- At home daily screening to check for fever, coughs, sore throat or any illness
Interested in Being a Campus Safety Assistant?
We are looking for any interested adults to work morning or afternoon shifts to cover our recess, lunch, and afternoon recess shifts. Please contact Stacey Coombe, our Office Manager, if you are interested in this opportunity!
