Wildcat Weekly

2022-2023 Vol. #34 March 25, 2023

Welcome back Wildcats! We enjoyed a great week back from Spring Break and hit the ground running to kick off the 4th quarter.

Spring is always a feverish rush of activity, testing, events, and a mad rush to the finish. Please be sure to take time to pay close attention to communications from TMHS including the Wildcat Weekly, any School Messenger messages, and emails. As always, don't hesitate to contact us here at the school should you have any questions.

Finally, congrats to the TMHS lady's soccer team as they earned a berth into the playoffs with a first-round contest against Bridgeland Friday night. Unfortunately, the Wildcats came up short, ending the season for 2023. Great season ladies!

We will have the seniors in a “2023” design formation in the parking lot and will take an aerial photo of them while they are wearing their cap and gown. After picking up their cap and gown the day prior, have your Senior take it out of the package and hang it up to eliminate any wrinkles in the fabric.

Senior End of the Year Slide Show

We are beginning the process of putting together the Senior Slide Show for the end of the year. This slide show is shown to the Seniors during their Senior Breakfast and will be playing as everyone enters Reed Arena on the day of graduation.

The Reed Arena Staff is requesting the completed video to be submitted by May 8th. Yes, that is weeks prior to graduation. For that reason, we need to start this project earlier than we have done before. We need all photos to be submitted by May 1, 2023. This will give us time to upload all pictures and put the final touches on the video.

We are needing 2 pictures for each Senior

  • 1 from when they were growing up
  • 1 current photo

These photos do not have to be professional photos. They can be candid shots from holidays, school events, vacations, and so on.

Here are the directions on how to upload the picture:

Click the link below. You will be creating a folder with your Senior’s name and uploading your photos into your Senior’s folder. If you have any questions, please let me know and I’ll forward it to the teacher that is putting it all together.

  • Please name your file with your Senior’s Name (Last Name, First Name)

We will then label the lunch for your student and place it on a table inside the front office. When your student comes to retrieve their lunch, they will need to show their student ID to take the lunch with them.

Reminder: Door Dash, Uber Eats and other food delivery services are NOT allowed to send students food during the school day.

Student Dress Code Reminders

We will continue to enforce our dress code policies per the TISD Student handbook with an emphasis continuing on the following items:

- All students must wear clothing that adequately covers the body. Shorts and/or skirts must reach the mid-thigh. Spaghetti straps, strapless, backless, see-through and low-cut tops are not allowed. Tops must cover the midriff.

- All male students must be clean-shaven.

- Students are not allowed to wear hats, bandanas, or other head coverings.

- Students are permitted to wear ear piercings only. No other body piercings are allowed to be visible.

- Student hair must be that of natural color.

- Pajamas are not acceptable.

All dress code policies can be found in the TISD Student Handbook linked HERE.

*Seniors - Dress code will apply and you must be in dress code in order to walk the stage at graduation!

Student ID Badges

All TMHS Students will be required to wear their ID badge each day!

Student ID Badges

Students are required to wear their campus-issued ID badges to school every day. ID badges will help the campus determine which individuals are authorized to be on campus and will assist in accounting for students in an emergency situation. For students, their ID badge has additional functionality for transportation, child nutrition, and library services. The ID badge will be provided to students as soon as possible, in some instances before school during orientation activities or on the first day of school. Students will also receive a lanyard and protective sleeve. Students must have their ID visible on them at all times during the school day. In the name of collectively ensuring a safe environment in our schools, the District appreciates the support of our parents in ensuring their students wear their badges to school every day.

Click HERE to purchase a new ID if necessary.

Please see the Student Health and Safety Handbook for additional information on measures to keep your students safe and healthy!

Student Parking

Students are able to purchase their parking permit via the TMHS website linked HERE. Special attention must be made to all of the parking guidelines and required documents in order to secure their parking permit. Only students who have purchased a permit are allowed to park on campus.

Only students who have purchased a reserved, painted parking space are allowed to park in spaces that are numbered.

**Senior reserved painted parking spots are SOLD OUT**

Student Cell Phone Guidelines

The district permits students to possess personal technology devices for safety and educational purposes; however, these devices must remain silenced during the instructional day, and shall only be used in accordance with all guidelines established in the Tomball ISD Digital Resources Acceptable Use and Internet Safety Policy. This includes, but is not limited to:

- Cell phones may be used during class for instructional purposes and in accordance with each teacher’s guidelines. Please note that teachers may choose to prohibit cell phone use in their classrooms.

- Cell phones may be used before and after school, between class periods, and during lunch as long as students follow TISD acceptable use guidelines. Students utilizing cell phones in the hallways, bathrooms, or other common areas during class time are subject to having their cell phone confiscated by TMHS administration.

School Safety

At TMHS, student safety is always our top priority. TMHS and all of TISD utilize the Standard Response Protocol when preparing for emergency events and when/if an emergency does occur. Anytime we utilize these protocols for practice drills or an actual event, communication will be sent out to inform parents and families. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the literature below. For additional information please see the TISD Handbook and Student Health and Safety.
