Our Kind and Caring McBride Community
Where does one even start to tell about the wonderful people at McBride? If I list all of you by name, there will be so many, the file won’t upload to the website. Now that’s a lot of wonderful people.
Your emails and cards made a long process of healing go so much faster. After being gone for knee replacement surgery, I was greeted at the front door by a dear sweet friend who so graciously took my cart with ice and ice machine up to the library. I got a bit teary eyed by all of the terrific books and cards delivered to the library. What a treat to read all of the messages from each of you. Our terrific library volunteers worked each day while I was gone and this week to help shelve all of our books. It has been so nice to see each of you this week and reconnect.
Thank you to each one of you who have stopped to ask how my recovery is going, tell me a story about a loved one or friend who has gone through a similar experience, and wished me well. Your smiles, hugs, waves, and kindness mean the world to me. They have a special healing property all their own. Thank you for your gentle reminders to use my cane and help me get my cart out to the car at the end of the day. My physical therapist is having me move away from the cane a bit each visit as I continue my physical therapy.
McBride Elementary is full of truly wonderful people with caring hearts. Thank you for all of your continued kindness and support! Julie Nelson - McBride Library
Kellie Smith, Melody Killens, Ryan Scholl, Trinity Monahan, Bill Amos
(School Board Members) This group of people are hard working, dedicated and truly care about our students. They serve in a difficult position and we are grateful for their support at McBride. January is School Board Recognition Month! THANK YOU, St.Helens School Board. You are considered Mustangs to us!
Colleen Nolan and Mallory Rutledge (NWRESD) These ladies have given extra support and help in our Preschool classroom. We appreciate them going above and beyond to help us to find resources and for being an extra hand in our classroom when we need it!
Sarah Landels (4th grade teacher) Miss Landels shares her amazing 4th graders with the Preschool classroom. Our preschoolers look forward to seeing their “big buddies” every month!
Chelsie Orr (McBride Secretary) - Thank you, Mrs. Orr for being a joy as well as bring peace into the front office for staff members and guests.
Isaac Polvogt - (4th grade student) Isaac Polvgot really helped another teacher and student in the third grade. He agreed to support another Mustang by reading with the third grader and has truly been a great help and leader to my student. Thanks so much to him for being so helpful! - a special thank you to his teacher Miss Landels for organizing this to make it happen.
Mary Beatley (Primary Learning Center Staff) Mrs. Beatley is always there to lend a hand if she sees a student, or staff struggling. A big thank you is extended to her for those times when other specialized programs need support, she always provides a fresh face and a new strategy to assist. Sometimes a new face is all it takes, especially when that face is bright with a wonderful smile!
Heidi Green, Kerry Marshall and Julie Nelson (McBride Staff) - These ladies helped cover a 5th grade class today when no Guest Teacher took the position. We are so thankful for a staff who will step up and help our Mustangs.
Barbie Windsor (District Behavior Specialist) - Mrs. Windsor supports many of our staff members brain storming how to support with behavior. Today she went above and beyond at the last minute to collaborate with Mrs. Tyler. Thank you for your last minute visit.
Cathy Gray - (McBride Secretary) Mrs. Gray took the time to help our school recognize our School Board Members. She has a gift in making creative items. Thank you, Mrs. Gray for offering support and helping McBride acknowledge our wonderful board.
Tommy and Ivy - (McBride Vacuum Cleaners) They have done a really good job trying to be thorough with debris and dodging desks. They are reliable, friendlier, and punctual. We appreciate that, because I am sure their job can feel daunting. Big thanks to them for helping McBride feel clean and tidy!
Beth Hansen (Retired McBride Teacher) made a difference by bringing in her smile and encouragement to staff who needed a "pick me up". Thank you to one who knows the work of educators! We love it when you come and make a difference in our day!
