Kruse students showed us how thankful they are! Thank you to everyone who helped the PTO with this project. There are so many wonderful notes about what the students are thankful for. We're thankful for our amazing Kruse Community!

Annual Holiday Giving Tree

This year, because we were allowed to have the book fair, we took the opportunity to put the Giving Tree up! It has tags for grocery and gas cards on it to be donated. We will also be sending out the Giving Tree Amazon Wish List in the next couple weeks.

If you didn't take a grocery or gas gift card tag and still want to donate to the Giving Tree feel free to drop off or send your student to school with the gift card. We ask that the grocery and gas gift cards be $20 increments to help us divide them up easily.

Kruse new wellness room update!

Because of the generosity of our Kruse Community, the Wellness Room that our Counselor Mr. Anderson has been able to create was able to be filled with books, toys and items that help kids understand and cope with their feelings.

Fundraising Efforts Go Far!!!

Chipotle Restaurant Night - earned $750 for the book vending machine

Fire House Car Wash - earned $600 to go towards updating the staff lounge

Noodles and CO - earned $470 to go towards new recess equipment

Smok Restuarant Night

Tuesday, November 16th, take a break from cooking and go support Kruse and a new locally owned restaurant.

Smok (pronounced Smoke)

Is a new, locally owned restaurant serving house smoked meats, handmade sausages, shared plates and creative sides and sauces.

Where: Smok at the Foothills mall

When: Tuesday Nov. 16 from 4-8pm

What: 20% of all food and beverage sales will go to support Kruse

How: Dine- in or order and place an order for pick up

Recess Equipment is here!

With the earnings from the Noodles and Company restaurant night and what was already budgeted to spend on recess equipment we had a very generous amount to spend! Surveys were sent to teachers asking them what they thought the students needed or wanted most and we tried our best to fill the requests!

For each grade we were able to get:

2 Hula Hoops

3 Jump ropes

2 Basketballs

2 Footballs

1 Indestructible soccer ball (check it out, it's cool)

2 regular soccer balls

4 playground balls

8 tennis balls (for wall ball)

side walk chalk

Whew! That's a lot of equipment. Our hope is the higher quality equipment will hold up to the student's rambunctious play and we will only need to replace them every few years.

Fall Scholastic Book Fair

Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair was an amazing success!! Our Kruse community is truly wonderful and I appreciate the volunteers who helped make this possible. We sold about $9,000 worth of product, which equates to over $4,500 Scholastic Dollars that our teachers and library get to use to restock books. Because of your support and generosity, we were also able to hold our Golden Ticket program which provided 3 free books to kids in each classroom. Thanks for coming out to shop, for rounding up your totals and for making purchases online. I hope your kids are loving their new treasures and hopefully we’ll see you at a Spring BOGO Book Fair! – Charlene Olms, Book Fair Coordinator

Amazon Smile

As we head into the holiday season and we start to purchase gifts and items off Amazon, we wanted you to know that there is a way to earn money for Kruse while shopping. Follow the link to sign up to support Kruse through Amazon Smile.

Support Kruse Amazon Smile

Watch for the changes to the Marquee!

You'll be seeing the old sign taken down soon and we should see the new one by mid-December. We can't wait!

Classroom Wish Lists

We'll continue to periodically share the teachers' Amazon Wish Lists. For anyone who would like to donate to their classrooms, this is a great way to know what they need. If your teacher isn't listed here and you would like to donate to their classroom, contact them directly to ask how you can help their classroom. The teachers are very grateful to receive every item, consider adding a gift note with the donation so they are able to thank you personally.
